So glad you had a positive appointment Aunty Pickle, is great they can offer you the holistic methods.

Is so hot here, I work in London and 25 degrees today!

Find out tomorrow which school my dd gets into tomorrow, should be fine but always a worry!

Small update. I'm in the hospital for the induction. Arrived at 11 and they started the processes at 1. No major developments so far. Normal aches and pains I'm always feeling. Settling down for the night in a hospital bed.

Thanks for the info on accupuncture but it looks like it might be redundant, I've just been up for a scan / consultant appointment (35+4 wks) and have been booked in for a c-section on 12th May @ 39 wks ! I'm getting another scan at 38 weeks just to check whether head is getting into a better position but if not due to baby size, my age (>40) and failed induction leading to c-section last time then we are all systems go for the 12/05 !

Good luck Milly! I hope things have been progressing well for you, even better if baby has arrived :)

I'm glad to hear your consultant appointment was so positive Aunty Pickle. I vaguely remember a midwife telling me about inductions/waterbirth last time I was pregnant, I think she said if you only needed one pessary (or whatever their first attempt is) then you could still use the midwife-led unit with the pool/bath. The holistic induction sounds fabulous, I've never heard of that before! Hopefully things get moving for you soon though.

JaneD, how are you feeling about the c-section possibility then? Most women I know who have had planned ones say they are much easier to recover from than an emergency section at least.

I think I am 39 weeks today  I'm uncomfortable but still enjoying the pregnancy and kind of don't want it to end just yet! I want to get more photos of my bump, I don't really have any and it would be nice to have a few, since this will (probably...) be my last baby.

Baby does feel very low - sometimes I feel as though it's actually halfway out already! No twinges or any other signs of labour, I'm expecting to have another two weeks at least.

I'm OK about it, I always knew it was likely after my disastrous time last time around ! my only worry is that after the first I only had a tiny (ish) baby to worry about - a toddler climbing on you is a different matter and she's not going to understand why I can't lift her for a few weeks & I think she's going to be jealous enough of her little brother for a while as it is. Still, he's bringing her a bicycle when he arrives so hopefully that will keep her amused for a while !! & there is still time for things to change, although to be honest, I think they are humoring me with the extra scan.

Hope everyone else is OK and enjoying this lovely weather.

Good luck milly, just had a quick catch up. Interesting to read about the different types of holistic induction offered in some hospitals.

Joshua is a week old today, it's gone so fast but also feels like he's been here forever! We're doing alright, both quite tired as expected! Feeding is going pretty well, had a bit of soreness but being brave to toughen myself up to ensure I can feed him myself for as long as possible.

We went out for our 1st walk yesterday, only over the road to the shop, I was shattered when we got back but was good to get a bit of fresh air.

Hope everyone is doing ok, I'm trying to have a little read when I can but these baby's really are very time consuming! xx

    Hi janed,
I have also heard a planned c section can have a quicker recovery than an emergency one. But have no experience myself. I have heard some women having a traumatic first birth followed by a super easy second birth.
If you wanted to it may still be worth chatting to an acupuncture specialist as it may get things going naturally ahead of the section if thats what you would prefer.
I am only on number one and have huge respect for those being pregnant and looking after toddlers. I realise I have the huge luxury of resting when I can. So big up to all you multiple baby mamas. Xxxx
