They aint really - not with shops nearby. TUI appear to have closed down the option to book over the telephone so for people like my dad it's shop booking only.0

Although as it seems the rest of the holidaying public will be spared having to endure your stroppy, intolerant father next year. Sounds like a win/win.0 -

Your IT skills seem just fine, you managed to successfully join this site and post 17 times, but hey, if you can't stretch to help your father book a holiday.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
This is a classic 'non complaint' if ever I've heard one!0

It's my dad's big concern - he struggles with poor english skills - grecce tends to have good english so we don't have a problem here but in cyprus he once stormed out of a resturant as the waitress could not understand what he was trying to order.0

My dad gets very stressed when booking things in a shop - no way am i willingly helping him do it at home when even putting in API details got me a ton of abuse from him as he got more and more stressed. No thanks.0

I went abroad once, never again, place was full of foreigners who couldn't understand me no matter how loudly and slowly I spoke. As for the food and drink, I'll say no more, other than you couldn't even get English tea, all they had was Chinese, Indian, Sri Lankan or Kenyan - no way was I going to drink that muck!0

You definitely should not book with Thomas Cook. They use a number of aircraft every summer chartered from airlines based in Lithuania/Latvia. Obviously this wouldn’t be suitable for you or your Dad.London3344 wrote:It's my dad's big concern - he struggles with poor english skills - grecce tends to have good english so we don't have a problem here but in cyprus he once stormed out of a resturant as the waitress could not understand what he was trying to order.
This just confirms what a few posters have suggested... travel abroad really isn’t something suitable for your Father.
Surely this thread is a wind up? Oh well it’s been a bit of a giggle :beer:0 -

This is a complete overreaction OP. How is it inconvenient? These things happen when travelling. You just get on with it.
It's embarrassing that you're making such a huge fuss about this.0
