Potential data issue with Dominos

An employee is the face of a company, the way you act reflects on them. Having a fit over a Pizza doesn't look good as it's now public.
It usually ends up on social media somewhere like everything does and that's not good publicity for any company.
It doesn't even matter who's to blame, the damage is already done and they have as much right to complain about you as you do about them.0 -
I never complained
I asked for a refund.
The manager had a hostile tone from the offset and was very aggressive with me.
He ended the call telling me that he didn’t like my tone of voice.
Me. The customer.
I think that’s what people are not really taking on board here.
I was a customer sending back a wrong order. I was well within my rights to do so
However their manager decided to make a spurious claim which he had to back up with evidence.
I’ve actually contacted head office and to be honest, they’ve expressed outrage and disappointment with the shift managers actions.
After all, I am a customer.
I ordered the pizza from my mobile.
That means that they actually had to find out my works phone number to make their complaint.
When in reality they should only be using any data to make a pizza delivery.
I think there has been a GDPR breach here0 -

What data do you think they used that you provided when you made the order?
It seems like the branch has either put two and two together (someone ordering a pizza to most businesses is likely to be an employee) or that you were perhaps wearing a works uniform which obviously identifies you as an employee and used publicly available information to get the business telephone number.
I don't see a GDPR breach in any of that.0 -

Except it isn't just because you ordered a pizza is it? It's because he didn't like the way you handled the phone call. I'm sure you've downplayed it here but even you admit you had an argument with him. While I don't doubt his behaviour was reasonable it doesn't sound like yours was either. You were representing the company, he felt your behaviour warranted complaint and he's free to do so.
How long have you worked at the company for?
And there certainly hasn't been any GDPR issues.
What do you actually want as an outcome?0 -

GDPR breach....oh dear. Suppose you're right. So what? What do you actually want to achieve, beyond embarrassing yourself at work and on here?0 -
For those who are convinced there is no data breach because it was delivered to the workplace address/the workplace phone number will be public.....have you considered how they managed to identify OP to OP's employer rather than how they managed to identify OP's employer?
If they used details they obtained from his order then it is indeed a data breach. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

I still don't understand what OP wants. He got his apology, Dominos admitted they were wrong and I'm assuming (although he didn't say) that he got his refund as well.
Free pizza for life?0 -
While the whole thoughts of bringing the company in to disrepute are probably valid. It does not take away the fact the pizza co by contacting the employer is a form of harrisment and slander (if what OP says is correct) . If you have the effort, this maybe the road to go down.
Also be aware this chain is run as a franchise business. I understand often the franchise owners own multiple units. So maybe worth also complaining to the owners.
If this had happened to me, I would be livid0 -
I'd be livid with myself for paying the price of a Dominos pizza0
