Potential data issue with Dominos

Decided to get a dominos in at work while on my break.

Driver turns up with a messed up order.

Tell him that I want a refund and to take it back. I then call the branch.

They have me on hold for 10 minutes which induces a certain degree of anger.

End up having an argument with the manager on the phone.

10 minutes later I’m informed by my line manager that Dominos have phoned up to complain about me! Claiming I swore at the driver.

I had made the order from my own mobile phone so they’ve went to the liberty of seeking out my works phone number and contacting them.

Can they actually do that? Seems a bit weird. Seething that some jumped up manager has tried to land me in a ton of trouble at work.

I’ve been in touch with Dominos and they have profusely apologised. They said the manager went too far.

All in all a very weird situation.

Some advice would be appreciated

They delivered it to your work? So, I dont see a data issue.
  • Yes however their only point of contact is through my phone number.

I order pizzas from all over.

But they know where you work from the address?

You have spoke to Dominoes about the actions of the manager, thats one thing, but googling where you work for a contact number isnt a data issue. Its a customer service issue, not a data issue.
  • Why would it be a customer service issue for them when i was the customer?

It's a customer service issue for you not them.
  • I never swore.

The manager has fabricated this because he’s been angered by our phone conversation to the point where he’s actually contacted my work.

    All over a refund.

Domino’s have admitted that he’s in the wrong.

I’m angered that this guy has potentially got me facing disciplinary action. All because I bought a pizza on my break.

If you face unjustified disciplinary proceedings, that's an employment law matter. You can't really stop someone phoning your boss to make daft complaints about you.
