Lake Ohrid is in the Wanderlust travel magazine this month.

Mind you I avoid Irish and English bars like the plague when I am abroad!

Don't think that is what the OP is looking for though, they want a large AI

Typical English or Irish bars aren't my usual choice either. But it's our 6th day on the bounce we've been in the Dublin Bar in Ohrid, and Its very much continental cafe culture with more coffee being supped than booze.

Large AI preferred to avoid the typical persistent hassle in many popular tourist resorts. There is no hassle in Ohrid, just a quality setting, excellent value, presented with a genuine smile.

We love Olu Deniz in Turkey, we hate AI hotels though as so much to see and do and lovely places to eat. How about this hotel complex in Fethiye ? http://www.letoonia.com/ or this ? http://www.libertyhotelslykia.com/

I vote for Dalyan- but hasn't got the big complexes you have your heart set on. Beautiful scenery and friendly people. Half hour transfer from Dalaman. Lovely sandy beach- but you need to take a boat or bus ride to get there!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Just got back, had the most amazing holiday to Marmaris, Ideal Prime beach Hotel, quite quiet, no problems, I went out walking on my own, OH stayed on the beach, felt safe at all times, never hassled or bothered. Did a couple of day trips which were great. Would imagine fairly busy in high season though.

I'm currently in Marmaris and I'm having a great time. I booked a last minute AI deal as the price was too good to refuse but I've only had a few meals in the hotel as I prefer the get out and explore. I can certainly understand how AI appeals if you have young kids or are on a fixed budget.

There are some exceptionally good deals available for Turkey at present. Some people may be put off by the troubles in the region but Turkey is a huge country, I haven't seen a spot if bother and the locals couldn't be friendlier.
