muesli/cereal bars recipes?

1 cup sugar
1 cup golden syrup
1tsp vanilla essence
6 cups cornflakes/branflakes etc
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
lge bar chocolate


melt sugar and syrup in large saucepan
bring to boil
remove from heat
add vanilla, cereal and peanut butter
press into 12" x 12" or similair pan
melt chocolate and spread on top
chill
cut into bars

    need 1 without the peanut butter my kids arent allowed nuts at school
    theres a healthy baked cereal bar recipe on the porridge oats in farmfoods, but no baking is better!!!:)

    these don't have nuts but do need baking
    are good for diabetics too

    175 g stoned chopped dates
    125ml water
    3 medium mashed bananas
    250g low fat margerine
    25g soft brown sugar
    175g plain/wholemeal flour
    1tsp baking powder
    200g cereal oats

    simmer dates and water until forms a soft paste
    remove from heat
    stir in banana
    melt margerine and sugar in another pan
    remove from heat
    stir in flour baking powder and cereal
    press half mixture into lightly gressed shallow tin
    spread date/banana mix on
    top with remaining oat mixture
    baake at 180 for 30 mins
    allow to cool then cut into bars

    I store in an airtight container in fridge and batch made on sunday will last all week

    yummy i'm doing weight watchers (yeuch) and these sound yummy and not too fattening!
    Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts :heart:

    They wouldn't last that long round here! If I made a batch and took them into the office they'd be gone in two seconds flat :D

    Hi guys and gals :)

    I love baking but currently I buy munch Organix goodies cereal bars £2.09 for six bars :eek: it suddenly dawned on me this morning why on earth I was paying so much for them when I could make them myself saving almost £10 a month!!!

    I've done a search through the wonderfully created mega indexed thread and have found recipes for apple and oat slices and banana date bars both of which sound like something munch would happily eat.

    I was wondering if anyone had any other recipes they've used or heard of, I notice that both of these can be kept in the fridge but can't be frozen...if anyone knows of any recipes that could be frozen as well that would be doublely (sp?) great.
