New washing machine - Which one??

Hi all,

Our washing machine is on the blink and is rather old (inherrited it from my Mum when I moved out) so we are considering getting a new one rather than pay to have it repaired.

Having never bought a washing before can anyone advise certain things I should be looking for, a good place to get one, reviews etc....

There is only two of us so washing loads arent huge and we obviously would like to get a good deal. We also have a seperate tumble dryer so would consider getting a combo at a good price to save some room!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Bosch or Siemens, check they are the German ones.

You want the machine to be A rated for energy.

I bought a Hotpoint, cause when the screen lit up it was blue

Well I was left on my own to buy it, Mrs Hawksmuir was away buying a new vacuum cleaner.

I think I've posted this before - take a look at this guy's website, a genuine washing machine repair man:

He tells you which models are made by which companies (zanussi, hotpoint etc.) and the reasons why more expensive machines last longer. Me, I've got a Bosch Logixx (scratched, so negotiated a discount.... moneysaving gets in the blood!) which has been used daily for 2 years now with nary a peep out of it.

Bosch for me too.....Powerhouse was the cheapest by far.....

Bosch by far, don't touch Zanussi, ours has been a flippen nightmare..
