I'm guessing nowhere fits then, since I've had no other responses.

When our landlord replaced the machine at our flat last year they bought one from Comet - the delivery drivers turned up, fitted it & took the old one away. I don't know if they had to pay extra for the fitting - taking away the old one was £13.

The only thing is if the pipes are copper or the connections won't turn by hand then they weren't allowed to fit due to legal thingys. I think it's their lawyers amking sure the can't get sued for breaking pipes/taps etc and flooding the place.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

My washing machine is 10 years old and dying on me so I need to buy a new one. My current one is a Whirlpool which has only had to be mended once in the past 10 years. Does anyone know if they still get a good name or would I be better changing to Bosch which seems to be the general recommendation on this site. I only ever use 2 programmes on it so dont need anything fancy. thanks.

ive got a miele very easy to use(one knob) one thing i will say and i dont know if anyone agrees with me but get your white goods including a washer from john lewis, you get an extended guarantee as standard and the customer care is second to none(in my opinion)

Have a Bosch Washing Machine and Dish Washer - if and when they need replacing, will go for the same.

Agree with the comments about John Lewis. Years ago bought a Hoover WM (Bad mistake !!!) from JL in Southampton. It kept breaking down, I think the neighbours thought I had a new job because the Hoover van was outside so often. When it died again - outside of warranty I phoned JL and said the machine was rubbish, they immediately sent me a new one. The new one was a bit better, Hoover had removed a design fault.
