£125 Lloyds Switch Offer 1 October to 12 November 2019

Whilst they haven't closed down my main account, and a couple of previous Vantage, now classic after the rate drop, they 'declined' a Club monthly saver & froze the £400 initial funding;
froze a switching donor classic account that was a couple of weeks old, and blocked the progress of the initiated switch (to Santander);
'declined' a 3 day old recent Club Lloyds and blocked already initiated switch in
(ex Tesco).
All declines were after initial acceptance & funding and no notice given.
They 'froze' the funds in each of these accounts so I couldn't transfer them out until I presented my passport in branch.
This seems like my experience too - open, only later to receive a text message (then letter) declining the application. Given how many people were playing with previous switch offers, we can't be the only ones affected? It would be interesting to know if anyone has managed to recover the situation after experiencing this.0 -
I’m with First Direct at the moment and have never had any issues, but am tempted to go for this Lloyds offer whilst it’s available0

I would get in there, easy enough to apply. Would keep the FD account if you can if just for the regular monthly saver. I've had my FD account for years, despite what others have said recently they still are my reliable account to keep.0 -

You just need to ease off the applications. It's often the Hunter "application velocity" trigger that causes them to decline in this way. They'll look at your credit file the day after the application and you should see an 'unrecorded enquiry' from Lloyds.
You'll then get the following letter:
They leave this in their internal notes:
CCFD is Credit and Counter Fraud Decisioning.0 -

Thank you - I hadn't applied for any bank accounts since June (for Santander) - well apart from downgrading the CL to Classic. The text of our letter is slightly differentThank you for applying to open a Current Account.
After completing a careful review, we are sorry to inform you that on this occasion the application has not been successful.
When assessing the application, we take into consideration many different criteria, but ufnortunately, your application failed to meet our requirements"
It mentions at the end if you want to discuss, call X but is there any point? Has anyone had these decisions changed? If not, how long are we blacklisted for?
Thank you0 -

I've had that letter before too. The one I posted before is where you've failed stage 2 credit checking. That one is where you've passed stage 2 credit checking but failed stage 2 fraud checking (check if they've marked any previous applications with National Hunter as 'inconsistent') so they think something is amiss with your application or are concerned about the number of applications.
There is another too where they load the info onto CIFAS:
In this case, the application was done by phone and whoever keyed the application added a 0 to the income figure and they put it down as application fraud on CIFAS (as I just so happened to accept the overdraft offered so they thought I was trying to fraudulently obtain credit)! They revoked the CIFAS entry without any discussion with me when I made a subsequent application the next day with Halifax with the correct income figure and they must have realised their mistake as when I got the SAR request back from CIFAS it was clear. I later found out from them that's what had happened.
Have you sent a SAR to National Hunter? You may find the problem lies there.0 -
Can anyone offer advise please, I would like to switch to Lloyds but have one direct debit due to come out on the 11th, the switch offer ends 12th November so was looking to do this tonight, will my direct debit on 11th still go through fine?0

Thank you - it seems you have a full case study dealing with this and them! I will request a SAR from National Hunter too - I have put in a request to CIFAS and to LBG, so may as well find out what they are looking at. Have you managed to get them to reverse their decisions after you have checked your data, or have you just stayed clear? If my something being amiss is simply volume of applications, then I would be guilty of that as I have over this year applied for "a few" accountswith their group. I will miss this current offer anyway now, so may as well find out as I want to ensure that my records (and Mrs Anon's) are clear.
I know serial switching is bound to annoy them, but so far as I am aware it is not against any stated rules (I appreciate they can choose to reject you on commercial grounds or whatever else they decide).0 -

Yes it should do as it is less than 7 days from now (switches take a minimum of 7 days if I recall).0 -

I never called them. I kept getting the letter you got when trying to repeatedly apply so I waited it out a year and then had no problems ever since.
There's also the below letter that they can send if they decide to withdraw existing facilities too:
They also leave this internal note (not sure they should have divulged the internal phone number!):0
