Well £50 this month. Last year managed 12.5% return. 2017 managed 12% return and 2016 11% return. So all is good but would love to win more!

If those decimal points are in the right place then you've done extraordinarily well over the past three years, winning about ten times the average, so wanting even more is just plain greedy!

That rare occasion where the much-abused word "incredible" might be appropriate :)

    I'd cut mine to 25k, one £25 win. My wife still has £50k, 3x £25 and 1x £50.

There was someone on the Chris Evans radio show a couple of years ago who said their job was visiting people to tell them they had won on the premium bonds. When questioned further she said that they personally visit people who win £20K and up!

Sadly no experience of it as only had £25 wins, but I live in a really remote area and I go out to work 4 days a week - are they really going to pay for someone to come and visit me and I may not be there?

    £0 in 13 months with £8k.
Have withdrawn and taken the £8k to Marcus
  • I have £100 in premium bonds. Calculating compounded interest on my winnings, taking the average over the months I've held them, and taking into account the first month when they weren't in the draw, I have a determined I have gross yield of 0% on my investment so far.

I've not won the £1,000,000 prize yet either , but I'm still hopeful

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

In a word, yes, although they do say it's only the top prize winners who get the personal visit, hence the name Agent Million (it wouldn't be viable to visit the 38 monthly winners of £25K+) - there's a short NS&I video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmcyLXFxCok explaining the process.

At the risk of taking your flippant post too seriously, your yield is exactly as anticipated unless you've had them for ages - a holding of £100 has a 95.2% chance of winning nothing each year, so on average you'd expect a prize about every 15 years.
