Anyone else switched via the MSE link but heard nothing since?

  • Switched on 22 Aug, all I have is the confirmation from the MSE Energy Club.
I am already an EDF customer, new tariff not yet showing in my online account.
  • Same here.

Reply from cheapenergyclub confirming switch details but saying EDF having problems processing tariff changes. Application should be considered in 14 days and if successful ( ?) switch applied retrospectively.

    Not very satisfactory!
  • I also applied on 20th August 2018 to move to a new EDF tariff, but the switch does not seem to be working.

I have called EDF on several occasions, but they advise that they have not received any details from MSE?

Is this an EDF or MSE issue??

I switched on 28 August and hadn't heard anything until today when EDF phoned me trying to make an appointment for a smart meter installation. I said I didn't want one and had thought the call was about the switch. They said they knew nothing about that and were sorry to trouble me. I now just will have to wait until next week. I think I will phone them on Tuesday. As said previously not as good as other years.
  • EDF switch in progress, (leaving Scottish Power). Switch is at Meter reading check stage for both E and G but all efforts to submit meter readings failed due to various technical difficulties, describes as severe technical difficulties on the telephone system... a shambles. Not impressed. Switch was due to complete 11/9.
  • not edf but i did a switch during similar dates 22nd august via uswitch and got the usual "14 days" email. contacted n power a few days back and they had no record (sods law).

Is the switching starting to fall down in terms of the old suppliers just ignoring these ?

it really would not surprise me.

I think it's both - so submit an email query to MSE Cheapenergyclub and also query with EDF. According to MSE, it's EDF who have a backlog of people switching or switching tariffs and they are having trouble coping but the more we complain, the sooner something will get done about the delay!
  • Well I am on the same boat, switched on Aug 21st and EDF has no record of it. Has anyone else had this resolved? Can you share your experience?
    Cheers
  • Switched on 20th Aug and confirmed few days ago. But I did go on live chat 2 weeks ago and they asked to forward copy of the MSE confirmation email.

I switched on 28 August and was concerned after seeing several posts on MSE. I went on Live Chat with EDF on Thursday(20 Sept) and they confirmed that there was a delay with the Collective Switch. I took screen prints at every stage of the conversation just in case.
