ISA acumulation through the years
I am new to ISA Cash - My question is: if I put into an ISA Cash account 3600 during 2008/9 in April 2009 I can put an extra 3600 right ? Do they acumulate to the previous periods one ? Do I get interest on all the money ? Do I have to always leave ONLY 3600 on that account and the rest has to be transfered to another…

Icesave reinstatement certificates
I had £1000 in an Icesave ISA. I received the cheque and a reinstatement Certificate from the FSCS and tried to open a Golden ISA with Barclays but was refused. They said that it was a transfer, but I thought it was a new ISA as the Icesave ISA had been cancelled. I spoke to Abbey and had the same reply. Surely the Cert is…

Low-fee ISA tracking FTSE World Ex-UK?
I'm looking for an ISA that tracks the "FTSE World Ex-UK" index. Trying to create a balanced portfolio and currently have too much exposure to the UK market (and sterling - does that make sense?). Eventually it could be the main staple of my family's equities portfolio. The management fees I've seen seem rather steep for a…

S&S Isa & currency exchange rates
It is always stated in S&S ISA warnings that currency exchange rates affect the value of overseas investments. How do current exchange rates affect the UK investor and what are the signs/factors to look out for when deciding when to switch in/out of overseas invetments?

Can I transfer an ISA before 6th April?
I have an ISA for 2008-2009 tax year into which I have put the maximum £3600. I would now like to start a new ISA with a better interest rate. I thought I could open a new ISA now and transfer my old ISA into it and then start paying into it after 6th April i.e. the new tax year 2009-2010. However, I just had a look at the…

ISA advice - Fix or not - advice please
Hi, I've got an ISA with Britannia. It was fixed at 6% which was REALLY good considering what's happened recently! That's fixed until Dec 09 ish. I've got about 7k in there. I've not added anything to this for a year or so. I've also got an ISA with Abbey. This was the direct issue 2 which was good but is now about 2% if…

Easy questions about S&S ISA
Hey, I'll start by saying that I'm relatively good 'saving' money but absolutely useless in making what I've saved work for me. I just don't understand the money markets. With the events of the past year or so - maybe not many people actually do :P I've got a few thousand currently tucked away in a cash ISA with Egg. It's…

Legal & General S&S ISA - Which fund to invest to ?
Hi I haven't used this tax year's ISA allowance yet and do not want to put more money in trackers, as I feel that indices may go lower later this year. Is there any way to use the remaining allowance amount but stay away from shares, like cash option in H&L ? I looked at L&G Fixed Interest fund, but it does not look like a…

However you can hold cash-ISAs from different years with different providers." Can I close one ISA in the middle of the tax year (i.e. July) and…

Is it possible to exceed the ISA limits? If so, what happens?
Hi, I'm not asking if you are "allowed" to exceed the £7,200 limit, but if it is possible to do so? and what happens if you do? E.g. Put £3,600 into isa with one bank, and >£3,600 into a stocks & shares isa with another bank/broker. I only know that a bank will stop you from putting more than £3,600 into the same cash isa…
