Stayed in all day - DGCs came for a couple of hours this morning and both did some jobs in return for pocket money - DGD4 vacuums though and mops kitchen floor once a fortnight but today she also cleaned the inside of all my windows and made a very good job of it. DGS4 helped empty all the top cupboard shelves onto work surface - he can easily stand on work surface and pass things down. Stuff went up there when I moved in to new kitchen and I really wasn't sure what there was. We rearranged in a more sensible and accessible way. A couple of items went in CS bag. I went through tinned food shelf and it was sticky and slighty smelly - I realised a tin of tuna had been slightly opened and put back and another tin looked rusty so both binned. I don't keep much tinned food usually just tuna, baked beans, soup and some tinned fruit. The kitchen is really done except for painting skirting board and filling a picture frame which I bought.
No frogs done but tomorrow is another day. I did some washing and put in drier except a few things that cannot be tumbled so most is all put away. I think I need to have an early night.

Well that is freaky as I watched the same thing yesterday! Not sure I totally agreed with everything in there.. I tried to fact check some of it and was not convinced. Still a good video though. I am still trying to get DS to put things away once he's done with things… I love to tidy and clean as I cook as it's so much more efficient.
Still wearing through my wardrobe and had the odd surprise with things I didn't think I would like, but actually loved wearing and vice versa. Getting down to the dregs now and I do have the odd gap I will need to fill. Most my energy this month is on concentrating using up food stocks whilst simultaneously trying to waste nothing and buy as little as possible. I think this three pronged approach should be quite effective and also helpful to my funds at the same time. I need to get out of a scarcity mindset for food as I always have far too much in the house, but it's a difficult one to break out of.
Taking a break tomorrow as it's my birthday, so will be dragging the family around some antique and charity shops before DH cooks me a massive roast dinner. I have of course made my own birthday cake - a lemon drizzle cake. A classic. It'll be available in the tlc carriage tomorrow for everyone to enjoy.

@Brie one memorable conversation I has was trying to tactfully explain to a nice (but not very bright) woman what a cremation was. I was going to my dad’s cremation.

@daisy_1571 and @ionafan thank you so much for the link which was really interesting and thought provoking especially as I went downstairs mid watch to make a coffee and can see my kitchen definitely was not closed last night!
My dad always left the kitchen immaculate at night even in his 90s and I remember when little washing up with my mum after every meal. My brother often slunk off and then when my grandad died and must have left a little money my mum bought a kitchen top small dishwasher. Think many things still goy washed up.
Now we just have more of everything, clothes , food ( bought more in bulk),entertainment. We also had a back porch which kept wellies, walking stuff and dog stuff and a cupboard in the hall for normal costs, scarfs and balaclavas ( yorkshire). I don't have either so coats and shoes an issue.
I do some of those habits but will try more.
Queries
What do people do with clothes you've worn but dont need washing and can wear again ( probably less of a problem for our grans and families then as leas clothes to choose from). I don't like to put back in the drawer ao have piles of work, home, clothes ?
Any charities that you can give / send old laptops and phones to and know that the hard disk/ stuff on them is destroyed ( broken ones that you can't factory reset or wipe clean) ?
4 frogs done yesterday but getting up to deal with frogs and hopefully some of the surface although several items deep visual clutter which definitely drains my energy.
@Brie and others, appalling customer care by companies :( and such lack of awareness and sensitivity.
Wishing everyone a good Sunday.
