Sofa last covered by my dad in the 70s/80s, it has storage underneath and the back folds down to be a bed. The rug is going in another room or if dd1 had her way out of the house!
Its abit more 'peacock ' colour in real life and meant to be a colour to hide a multitude!

Also just made a complaint to a compnay and got a 30 digit reference no! Maybe a reflection on the no of complaints...

Sunday is another overcast day & would appear to have rained overnight. Forecast high 11°C (feeling 2°cooler due to S wind) & low of 7°C There is a chance of rain about 22:00. I got overexcited & was mistaken when I said DH had done the wudupa 😞 He had done most of the wu & just du the cutlery. You will be surprised to learn that I went to bed @ 02 :30 & apart from bathroom visits slept through to 09:45. I have du & pa the wu whilst making my first cuppa. I am now settled down & watching the Winter Olympics …………. some time later after watching the *video from daisy, I wanted another drink so did the last bits of wudupa & thoroughly scrubbed & disinfected the kitchen sink. I am now settled in front of the TV. *very interesting video. Not to make excuses, but my hallway is barely large enough to accommodate 2 people let alone a hall table & I am missing a scullery 😉 However there are still plenty of tips that are useful & doable 😊
TC77, like you I will be trying to incorporate a few more of the habits in the video 🤞 Great work dealing with 4 frogs 👏
Loving the observations about the video & which bits we can & do incorporate into our daily routines 😊
daisy_1571, thanks for sharing your methods re coping with lightly worn clothing 👏 I also really liked the advice about difficult to launder clothing 🙂🤔
vulpix, Happy Birthday to your DD 🎂🥳 QueenJess also twins with my eldest nephew 🙂 I loved This “Oh dear I seem to be a 1950’s housewife. I don’t like getting up to a mess so I do tidy the downstairs before I go to bed, I liken it to closing a shop so it’s ready for business the next day. Similarly I tidy the upstairs in a morning before I go downstairs.” ☺️👏 I am also very impressed that you are still using the routines instilled in you when you were nursing 🥹 to me it just proves that there is definitely a place for Matrons 😉 All I can say is thank goodness you are posting - you are an inspiration 🥹 I did have a wry grin at your ‘case in point’ example 😆 Sounds like MrV needs both an inventory & a lock on his wallet 😉😂
2Scratters, love your observations & agree that our changeable weather is a bona fide reason why I have way too many clothes 😞 Great work decluttering the old plaster to the Tip 👏 Very pleased to hear that the new kitchen design is coming along so well ☺️ DH’s niece S has one of those ‘hot water taps’ and both she & her husband love it 😻 I am rather ambivalent as on the one hand you can make a hot drink very quickly but on the other hand you lose some cupboard space 🤔
London_1, what a glorious post 🥹 You, DD2 & her DH seem to have worked out a perfect way to live with everyone benefitting 🥹 I did have a little thought wondering if it would have been the same with DD1 😉
TC77, I think I am in the same camp as you - mix & doesn’t match furniture ☹️ Made worse by DSis bringing over dark furniture from France whereas DH & I prefer lighter coloured furniture 🤷♀️ Nice looking sofa, hopefully it won’t take too long to be re-covered 🤞As to the rug, it could probably benefit from a little TLC 😉 I do like the colour 😊 Shame about having to make a complaint, so time consuming ☹️ but I did have to laugh at your comment about the 30 digit reference number “Maybe a reflection on the no. of complaints…” 🤣
With all the conversation about the video, I have made sure all the little bits of washing up have been done rather than leaving them until after dinner. There was a small portion of last night’s sausage linguine left so I had that for lunch. I also tidied a corner of the kitchen worktop as it had become rather untidy 😞 Taking a break from watching the Winter Olympics & watching an episode of Lewis & knitting at the same time. DH has filled the bird feeders, zizzed some worm food & worked out the issue with the motorbike. It is the starter motor which might have been damaged by using reverse gear. Hopefully it hasn’t wrecked the new alternator 🤞 DH will phone the garage tomorrow.
291 Glass jar recycled (wheelie bin not emptied this past week but still have plenty of space 😮💨)
292 Quarter of a tyre binned
I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & is managing to stay warm & dry 🙏 I will see you later 👋

@vulpix Yes you have a l9vely homely home!
@2Scratters Youngest & wife bought their Quooker tap in a black Friday sale a year before they had their kitchen fitted as it was a discontinued style & was half price. They have a large kitchen tho so could spare the space under the sink.
I'm slowly sorting the bathroom out, swapped the towels I had bought as they were too blue for the pape, and replaced with grey & stone coloured ones instead. The old ones are white, aqua & fuschia, which were all from before leaving Blackpool in 2019 (I think the white ones pre-date the bathroom refit in 2011!). The white & fuschia ones will go into rotation, and aqua will be for guests.

The last few days we have put some boxes in to the recycling bin as well as some paperwork.
I have finished my diamond art and started a new one today not a big one so it shouldn't take to long and I have done another craft project and used some buttons up.
Done some ironing today which I need to put away, I thought my DS had a top for school tomorrow but he hadn't so had a put a load on and put it on the heater.

@QueenJess Happy Birthday - hope you’ve had a lovely day antiquing. I am with you on the scarcity mindset re food and find it very difficult to get stock levels down.
A frog done this weekend. Just waiting for others to confirm they are happy with what I have done before I can finally tick it off the list from where it has been looking at me for a few years. Several more of such frogs to munch, but every one done is a win.

I have also put on of DS school shift in to my recycling bag and I took the buttons off and put them in my buttons box.
Just Listed 4 items on vinted and a couple have favourites already so hopefully they will sell soon.

Dealing with part worn clothes. I either hang up to air outside the wardrobe or lay over the landing bannister. I have my in house clothes and my going out clothes and if I have a visitor I wear my fresher going out clothes.
It's too easy with automatic washing machines to wash clothes frequently. Years ago, clothes were worn for much longer as washing involved a lot of time and work. Single tub machine with mangle to remove some of the water.

Oh my goodness. What busy bees! I have been away since Christmas and came home yesterday raring to go. I always find a holiday is great for getting your thoughts straight! Anyway yesterday evening I went down with the lurgy that lots of people seemed to have on the cruise ship. No energy so can't get going yet. I am just managing to do a bot.of washing and tumble drying. Hope I feel a bit better tomorrow. We had such a lovely time whilst away but have also come back to no central heating . British gas coming to look tomorrow!

My bestie came to pick me up for Church and loaded a bag of donations that I had got ready into her boot. I went to her SA corp.
I had a phone call from daughter who returned from Chile yesterday.
I carried on sorting stuff from the office.
There was a box of photos - no idea who most were. Mr F had no siblings or children so no one to pass them on to. I will keep a few of him as a baby and child.
My daughter said that I must eat - I cooked some food - looked at it and thought - I don't want it. However I made myself eat it. Then I had a long crying spell. I left a voice message for my bestie - she rang me and helped me to stop sobbing.
Decluttered today - kitchen cloth, Bible, book x 2, bag of money bags, box of badges, book x 8, receipts, file & inserts, book x 4, folder, bag and book x 5.
