When I was confirmed at church as a teenager, my godmother's family also came to the service. As Baptists, the children weren't familiar with the concept or the word. So the son, who was probably about 15, called it my confustication. The daughter, who would have been just under 10, called it my cremation!
Hope you've had a lovely birthday @QueenJess
@TC77 I'm afraid I do just put once-worn clothes back in the drawer if they don't need a wash, after they lie out overnight on the bed to air.
@Florenceem sending you hugs

Thanks again for info on lightly worn clothes. I put my rail back up ( think took down 4 or 5 months ago) and has improved the situation.
Some.papers out, towel to cat bag , 4 bowls in cs bag , put half the kitchen to bed, hing up clothes and tested 3 printers (2 inherited ). This week will contact a local group to see if they want them.

Brie - I have helped at SA lunch club for a couple of years - in fact I organise the volunteers, go round with seconds, clear the serving table after dinner ready for pudding. Then organise/make tea and coffee. If the old lady who lives 2 roads away is not there - I carry a meal + pudding up to her house.
I have been absent from the lunch club for 5 weeks - not one meal has been brought to my house. If my bestie was still serving at that corps - meals would have been brought every week. I live just round the corner from the corps so no distance to carry a meal.
To say I am dismayed is an understatement - no pastoral care for me.
All I have received is persistent requests to visit me at my home. I have refused to have these visits. I am very selective about who I have in my house.
I had a text today - asking when I may return to worshipping there.
I don't know how I can bear to worship there without Mr F in his usual place beside me. I can worship at my bestie's corps as we didn't go there.
I am unable to make a decision on where I will soldier at the moment.

@Florenceem personally I think I know where you will worship. My youngest & DiL are active in a parish several miles away from their home (I'm also fairly sure it wasn't their parish before they moved). Actions and behaviours speak volumes.

Florence, I'm so sorry your church has decided not to support you after the time and effort you both put in…I know its not done for reciprocation but at the same time, it would have been nice to have some support..
Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi20 -
I think you've been treated appealingly by them. You both put in so many hours and did any job asked of you going in at all hours to help with meals and sorting, taking things home to let privately for their funds, sorting rubbish and recycling. These are caring people who have known you both and held you both in high regard, to not have reciprocated like you would have done offering tempting meals and even to put the kettle on...terrible
I think you should go with your friend

Sunday continued: Dinner was roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings & hm gravy (DH) The crackling didn’t cook during the 2 hours the pork was cooking, so was taken off & put in the oven separately for another 20 minutes. Dinner was delicious 😋 Watched Call the Midwife & then did the wudupa.

Started watching an old episode of Midsomer Murders but fell asleep on the sofa, missed the rain & woke up at 02:45 😱 It is raining again. I will try to catch up with the cheerleading but may not be successful as still feeling very sleepy.
Floss, well done sorting the towels 👏 No towel sets here - DSis has a mishmash of towels brought from France & we have a mishmash as well - none of which match the bathroom decor 😞
Deb4, well done on the eclectic decluttering 👏
oceanspirit, well done on munching a frog 👏 Fingers crossed that the others involved will give their seal of approval quickly 🤞
Deb4, fingers crossed for quick sales 🤞
littlemoney, you are so right about the temptation to wash clothes more frequently 😉 Now of course our concern is not to use too much water 🤔
Lovely to see you Soontobeoap 👋 Pleased to hear that you enjoyed your cruise 😊 but sorry to hear that you are now ill 😞 although I am of the opinion that being ill at home makes it is easier & quicker to recover 🧐
Florenceem, your bestie is a true & supportive friend 🥹 Some good decluttering 👏 & sounds like you are still trying to keep busy.
ilovetea, sleep well & will see you on Monday 👋
Lovely post Yorkie1 😊 I had thought that ‘confustication’ was a made up word but apparently not 🤭 although it was more an explanation of how the 15 year old was feeling 😉
Great decluttering TC77
Florenceem, so very sorry to hear that your corps have failed you so badly in your time of grief & loss 🥺 & I agree with the comments from Floss, taff & daisy_1571 🥹
Gentle cwtches 🤗 & a plea to eat even when you don’t really feel like it 🙏
