Between your post @London_1 about the better quality of life you're all having and a video I saw on YT last night about the same feelings from someone who moved to a part of Wales I have loved my entire life, I just want to move to the coast and live in a little cottage somewhere now. Don't think DH would be too pleased with that idea 🤣 but so glad to hear that you're having such a great experience on the IOW. We loved the No 64 cafe in Ryde when we last visited - and all the little independent shops and cafes as you mentioned. Enjoy exploring your new home.
Have managed to unpack another box of desk stuff and think there are a few things that will be diverted to the charity shop rather than going into the desk. Other than that, not a lot happening here.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201716 -
Hi everyone, sorry I've been absent again.
Been busy organising myself as I didn't get the results I wanted with the gcse maths exam and enrolled to retake the year.
Life has crept in too, but really need to organise myself better if I'm to pass the gcse and make an improvement in tai chi by making myself take the time to practice what I can.
I've managed to take 2 medium sized bags of assorted bits to the charity shop yesterday.

OH continued to make progress on the master jobs list - he took some things to CS and has been working in the garden in between clearing more papers from his room.
Used up some more of the older food stocks and some meal portions have gone in the freezer. Some admin done and more papers shredded.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15 -
I have benn working on making a masterlist also - discouraging in it's size but maybe I won't worry about forgetting to do something. Was 105F (40.55C) here yesterday. Down a couple of degrees today. My car finally was repaired - the repair person too some money off the total, but it still was a lot for me. Gave me a list of items needing to be done on the car though - oh my. Going to have to save up.
We got a ride to Di's doctor this morning. That was nice, and was able to work on my crocheting for class (making a shopping bag) while I was there.
It has been so hot here. I bought new bananas as the others had "cooked" while out on the counter. Eating them anyway, 1 on my cereal and freezing the rest for "ice cream". Much better uncooked sliced on cereal though.
Trees have decided however that it is autumn. So are now dropping yellow blossoms all over - just started today. Don't know what kind of tree it is - was planted by the city when we moved in. Coolest place in front yard has been out under the tree.
We are praying for rain here - several forest fires about 25 miles away. One closer to where my sister lives in the foothills. Likelihood is not good, but we may get clouds. It helps.
Hope everyone is feeling like autumn cleaning time is here. I do - getting ready for winter.

Pennypincin. fingers crossed for your exam. DD2 took her maths 3 times to get the grade, all just nerves.
I had a master jobs list but abandoned it now I have decided to move.A bit extreme. My list just has renew passport on it and pot up some plants from the garden. If I move, I will be back to a jobs book, not just a list! I have a page per room and also garden page.
We are going to look at a house today. I love the potential of the building and in many ways it is what I want, small garden, no grass, no hegdes etc It is parking that is a worry for me. I don't know if it can be rectified by throwing a lot of money at it to enlarge it. Atm there is a single garage and a parking spot on an unmade access road at the back. It just lets it down for me. Mind, if it wasn't like it is I think the property would be much more expensive. It is an ancient building (1730) marooned amongst much more modern buildings. Poor thing.
Better get my skates on. Vx

How exciting Vulpix a 1730's house. Ours is only 1997 sadly.
I grew up in a cold draughty Edwardian house with windows that rattled in the winter and it felt like a permanently leaky roof that my late Father bought after WW2.
It had 13 rooms on three floors, but we just lived on the ground floor as it was far too expensive to heat. He bought it for the huge garden as both he and my late Mum enjoyed gardening and growing veg.We even kept some hens ,which, when their time came were eaten.
Because it was so difficult to heat it was always cold, it felt even in the summer. But apart from the cold it was a good sized house for three children to grow up in as we all had our own playrooms upstairs which meant we could ,and did, have lots of pals round to play.
My Dad paid in retrospect very little for it as no one wanted this big place. The overheads to keep the roof sound must have cost a fair bit as I can remember there being it felt lots of scaffolding every spring with the builder almost moving in
I believe my Father paid around £1400 for it and we lived there for about 12 years then my Mother although she like the garden, said it was just too expensive to heat , so he sold it and we moved to a much smaller place.
Last time I saw it, the place had been split into three apartments, and there were four houses built in what was our back garden.
But hey ho it was a nice place to grow up in.
Older properties fascinate me as I like to think of the people who lived there before, and as its almost 300 years old its had a good few residents I bet.
Anyway you just know when you find the one that ticks all the boxes for you.
I'm off to audiology after lunch to pick up my new hearing aids and I'm really looking forward to it. I also have some more bits to drop off in the Ryde CS. I'm slowly sorting out what I want to keep and what can go .
The sun is at least shining at the moment so the washing is getting a good blow
Hope everyones day is going well

Tuesday started overcast & dull. I was up 11:30, had a bath (used my newly purchased battery operated body brush massager 🙂), washed my hair & was dressed by 12:20. I had a cuppa & set off 12:50. Nice bonus, I found a 20p coin in the road a few yards from my house 🙂 Bus to surgery & I arrived with time to spare. Having never had an ECG before I was unaware of the procedure 😉 So shoes, top & bra off - laid down & leads put on ankles, wrists & torso - 4 or 5 left side & 1 right side of chest. Young lady told me to relax so I was deep breathing 🙊 She popped back behind curtain to tell me she couldn’t get a reading 😥 & advised I needed to shallow breathe. By this time my stress levels were through the roof 😣 She managed to get readings & told me she was booking an appointment for tomorrow to talk to doctor. I got notebook out for details - NO - it is a telephone appointment - 2nd patient but no idea of start time (but thought it might be by 10:00) & no idea of dr’s name Really stressed now 😣 Walked to local shop & picked up some potatoes & bread, walked to post box then carried on to next bus stop. I was back by 14:15. DH & DSis were out in the car - Tip, then a pick up from screwfix + a trip to MrS. Dealt with today’s mail. Spent the afternoon doing puzzles & watching TV. Dinner was pork steaks, mash & mixed veg from the freezer. Wudupa.

Lovely post Moorviews 😊 & yet again I am blushing ☺️ Fingers crossed that you have enough sample skincare products to last to the end of the year 🤞
Excellent work in both keeping clutter out & maintaining previously cleared areas 👏 combined with resisting the urge to buy more storage. That great combination is worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way. Really like daisy_1571’s suggestion that might help with sorting out the DCs rooms 😊
Wednesday has started bright & sunny but chilly. I stayed downstairs & dozed/slept on the sofa waiting for call from the doctor. Now 10:30 & no call even though I was supposed to be the 2nd patient called 😔 The only halfway good result is that I was awake at 08:00 to take in a couple of parcels for ndn 😉
vulpix, I have to confess to a sneaking admiration for your DCs 😉 although having said that I do hope that they finally remove all their ‘stuff’ as you won’t want to take it with you when you move 😉 DB needs a kick up the jacksie - 45 years is rather too long to procrastinate 😅 Good luck culling the clothing in MrV’s drawers 🍀
Liverpool_Anne great decluttering on Sunday 👏 & I see that you have a full & busy week planned 🙂 I do hope the weather forecast was correct on Monday & that you managed to get your laundry done 🤞The optimism of youth is a wonder to behold 😊 Good luck to your DNiece & partner 🍀
ruby_eskimo, I agree with vulpix “an absolutely hilarious story” 😂
vulpix, excellent decluttering of MrV’s drawers 👏 Good luck with today’s viewing of your potential new home 🍀 & fingers crossed re the viewing of your house on Friday 🤞
11:30 & still no call so I phoned the surgery. I spoke to a receptionist who advised that yes I was 2nd on the list for a call but following a long winded explanation about priorities etc all I gathered was that whatever number you are on the list means absolutely nothing at all. Embarrassed to say that I tried wheedling etc (very politely) with absolutely no joy at all & no understanding from the receptionist who was obviously following a script. To say I am incredibly disappointed is an understatement 😥 especially after such a good experience with the pharmacist 😔 Oh well, swings & roundabouts 😉 Flagging now so will post this & possibly go to bed for a couple of hours 🤔

I hope they call and you can get some answers MrsSD. I was nervous on my first ECG, but since then I have had at least 10 ECGs as my mother had two heart attacks before 50.

I finally sorted out my airing cupboard. I took my handbags out and put them back in boxes. i have been using my white bag all summer as i have been wearing white trainers a lot, but i will be back to using the others soon.
It felt chilly this morning so I'm wearing a knitted dress and tights. The dress is dark green and the tights are red so I look like a middle aged elf!
I rearranged my underwear and my nightwear drawers too. I didn't actually declutter anything. I did vacuum this morning, though. I know I have decluttered things over the past week, but I haven't posted.2025 GOALS
