Why do people ask where to get something and then accuse you of affiliation?

Not convinced it would have made a difference to my link........would it? Perhaps I am being a dizzy blonde????0

Still none the wiser...
Basically now, if you post the amazon url, this software detects the link and redirects any user who clicks it through an affiliates site and then to the page intended. Each time this happens MSE gets paid a fixed fee.
Its all just a form of marketing.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

yes, as above if the company is part of a skimlinks scheme it will be directed through an affiliate link (as it does in my browser).Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
AAAAHHHrrrrrgggggghhh, perhaps that is the mystery answer to my link then.......why have they got to faff about doing these stupid things and cause us grief??? I only tried to do someone a favour and it ended up they were sent an affiliated link and I was accused of having some affiliation with the site and blah, blah, blah. I shall know for next time.0

And that's what's causing the uproar in Site Feedback?
Not really seen but probably as it suggests certain bias to companies part of the scheme, but seeing as it only affects user generated content, MSE remains impartial as always (we hope). Some people just cant see that though.
I like it, doesnt effect our experience but brings in extra bucks to MSE.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

We used the company to buy 2 wooden venetian blinds and they were fantastic and as such we intend (when funds permit) to kit out the rest of the windows to the house.
I just thought this was a valid and sensible alternative to paying over £200 for a roller blind and was trying to help. I just couldn't help but wonder ...... what exactly the purpose of the original post I responded to was, if not to provide a link as to where to buy a wide window blind.
See above post with accepted apology
I don't suppose I can have your link, please?
I have a wide widow, 7 ft wide and it is a nightmare trying to find a blindWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
