Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!
  • a big hello to everyone! I have GREAT news.....regarding my post (see above) MMD vs MBNA...I WON!!!!!!!!

After being served with a Statutory Demand on Christmas Eve (!) last year and subsequently having a miserable Christmas with absolutely NO money, I took on MBNA and their vile (ill-informed) DCA's.

If I can do it, represent myself in court and WIN a difficult case then anyone can! Please please please don't give up if you find yourself in a similar situation :)

I couldn't have done it without the incredible help and immense knowledge of one of MSE's legends 10past6. Their unwavering support has helped me through a very very tough few months...I can't thank 10past6 enough :)

So, if it's not too nosey to ask, what's your remaining debt now? Are you suddenly nearly debt-free? I really, really hope so!

    Sniff! Congratulations!

    Hi
I have been reading your posts with great interest, as I am in a very similar situation. Although my debt exceeds yours, I have remortgaged to the hilt have no equity in my house, have 2 further secured loans of £54k and £17k and unsecured debt of £50k. I now am in a DMP with Gregory pennington who have been nothing but excellent and yes I am paying them a fee but they have dealt with all my creditors and have set up a payment plan that I am happy with. If I can pay more I will. They are reviewing my financial situation in 6 months time and I may be able to go into a Trust Deed which is a set amount over 36 months usually and after I pay the last payment all my debt is written off. I will have to pay at least £300 per month but compared to what I was paying individually it has left me feeling less stressed and crabby and my oh and both sets of family have been very supportive. I have a young son who is 4 and have not thrown any of his baby things out. I have washed every item of clothing and ironed and took pictures off it and am putting 10 items a day on ebay until I have all the items listed. Even if I make a few hundred every penny helps.

I worry about not putting food on the table, clothing my son who is my life and making sure he wants for nothing, but most importantly because I have addressed my debt problem I am much happier in myself and spend more time with my son and husband doing family things that do not cost anything. like a walk to the park.shops./etc and a drive to the beach or feed the ducks. I am determined I will get rid of this, plus I have at least 5 items at the FSO re PPI so fingers crossed its been going on since December and am no further forward but I will get there. I have never given up hope and think one day I willbe debt free x:D:T:rotfl:

Also GP have their own bank account called Think Banking thru the RBS and anyone can apply for it you get a maestro card, pay £17.50 management fee every month and they manage your bank account they pay your dd's and you have a bills account and a spending account - have had this for 5 months and it is the best thing I ever done wish I had done it years ago would have saved me a fortune inbank charges. With this account you never ever get bank charges.
