I think it's worth warming your clothes before you put them on as well. Once the heating's allowed on, I'll put my layers on that while I wash, and right now my bedsocks get wrapped around my wheatbags before I put them one. Otherwise my feet feel cold within my bedsocks, and wearing them becomes a mixed blessing: on the one hand, I'm not making my DH's feet cold, on the other my feet don't warm up!

I sympathise with you Pattycake, I've got an underactive thyroid too. I was diagnosed about 10 years ago and dispite regular medication still feel the cold easily. I've had my heating on in the evenings for about 2 weeks now. I'm OK in the day while I'm active but as soon as it gets dark and I sit down for any length of time I get cold. I hope you start to feel better soon. At least the medication stopped my hair falling out as it was when I first went to the doctors!

I've also got an underactive thyroid gland but, since I have ALWAYS felt the cold even as a child, I didnt connect the two.

Raynards can be diagnosed by a blood test. My sister had it and although I have poor circulation I do not. My fingers go blue and then white. I take Ginko Biloba with helps with blood flow. I wear gloves most of the time and thick socks in winter. I have a hand warmer which I take out when walking or watching my son play rugby.

I bought a smashing hat in Debenhams this morning. It's made of thick wool, and has a fleece lining. It's also got flaps that come down over my ears.

Thanks for all the other tips too :)
Here I go again on my own....

But it's been over 20 degrees outside for the last couple of days! Almost summer!

The only way I can get warm again if I've got really cold is to have a HOT bath! The house can be boiling hot, but if I'm cold then I stay cold. I love my wheaty bag heated in the microwave too. I've noticed that Lakeland are doing some microwaveable slippers - I think I might get some next week.
Even when I'm warm enough indoors I seem to immediatly loose all my body heat as soon as I go outside when it's cold - no matter how many fleeces etc that I wear!
