    Hi,

I usually buy Tesco Value ginger nuts - last week 28p this week 53p about 95% increase.

I spoke to customer services on way out & asked for explanation ; she said its on the TV news about everything going up.......

I said 5p extra ok but not to double over night while digestives are still the same - she said Oh well they'll be up next week.......

    off to Asda I go

I think its a fix - they'll put prices up and then pretend they reduced them later.

    regards Anne

Been to my local |Asda today got the 50p Grapes & butter, but they had no bread or eggs at 50p, poor show.
Also had to ask about the offer advertised on telly re Indian ready meal and beer for £5:beer: (£8.48) normally, as not advertised anywhere, even the staff weren't sure:rolleyes: .

its amazing, all you hear about is how they have had a great year in regards to profit! its not suprising with the amount they are charging. why dont they help the little people for once and lower the flipping prices. they might find that the cheaper they are the more customers they have and that might mean they still have several million/billion in profit!!
it would be nice if they would stop the rubbish of bogof's too and just lower the price. i might not want 2 of the same product to save me 50p or whatever. just take 25p off each item and i'll make the decision on if i want 2 or not..

ok rant over i've thrown my tuppence worth in lmao :D
It only seems kinky the first time.. :A

Well, I've been to Asda this morning and got the 50p Bread, Grapes, Bananas and Butter. Thing is I forgot the Eggs. I also went to buy a couple large sponge flan cases as Asda are 55p each, 21p cheaper than Tesco, today Asda are now charging 76p.

I then went to Sainsburys to get their Basics Cornflakes which I think are the best tasting Value cornflakes anywhere. They are made in Poland and usually cost 29p for a 500g pack. Today they are 49p, I was horrified, that's a huge increase but I suppose it's inline with the other stores.

As others have said, how can they justify such huge increases, in all the spin and hype, overall they are all still making millions profit.
