Can anyone tell me the best price place to buy Ginger Nut biscuits please?
People on chemotherapy are adviced to eat them to take away the nasty taste in the mouth. I have been making them, along with ginger cake but wanted to get a few packets in stock.
5 for a pound Farmstores.0 -

It was 78p 2 weeks ago, now it is around the £1.45 mark. Even the "cheap" brand corned beef they stock has gone up over 50p in 2 weeks.
The price of pasta is the same. Their own brand stuff is, again, about double what it was a few weeks ago. I would rather pay a few pence more and go for the named brands now.
I guess, actually, it's a case of swings and roundabouts as there are some things I have noticed coming down in price. Just for example, Bird's Eye beef slices in gravy (small pack) is now around 45p in Tesco. Over the past 6 weeks or so, it has gradually dropped by 1p or 2p each week. Strange!
if you are looking for corned beef i bought some yesterday in my tesco for 90p it was princes lean corned beef and there was a sign on the shelf saying 200g tins 90p but the tin i got has 70% free which was 340g instead of 200g so i got a sales assistant to check these were included in the offer and they scanned it and said yes hopefully they are doing the same in a store near you.
I think shops are now struggling to out do each other so have probably got a bit crafty by putting some items up some items down so its hard to decipher which stores are cheaper - just my thoughts on this subject. The average woman would rather have beauty than brains,

The prices are all over the place at the moment. Asda do have a special on Surf large boxes 30 washes 2 for £6, not quite as good as Tesco own liquid £1.68 for 20, but at least they had them in store!0

I totally agree i am not defined by a mans opinion either as I have a higher opinion of myself than just average.;)The average woman would rather have beauty than brains,

just to add, I think it is all over now. Just took delivery of my asda shopping and the few 50p iems I had ordered have gone back up. Cheeky monkeys (was gonna say something else there!) It showed at 50p all yesterday, checked my bill and then online and they have gone back up.
Smart price butter back up
Grapes back up
bananas back up
the thing is I had ordered double the amount as I thought it was 50p:mad:
The only thing that hasnt gone up is the whole cucumbers.0 -
yes, the 'grand gesture' of 50p items to help with the cost of shopping was very short-lived.
Seems to be more of a marketing gimmick than a genuine desire to help hard pressed shoppers (as they said). :rolleyes:0 -
Santa deleted it as when I re -read - I thought no she is taking the p+ss out of men!0
