looks like they may have slashed the price on some staple items, but you will notice they have increased the price of other shopping items to compensate.........so yet again the winner is not the buyer but the supermarkets.

Can anyone tell me the best price place to buy Ginger Nut biscuits please?

People on chemotherapy are adviced to eat them to take away the nasty taste in the mouth. I have been making them, along with ginger cake but wanted to get a few packets in stock.

the asda smart price ones are lovely and crunchy, lovely to dip in tea too :D

i went to asda today for the 50p goodies :j i could hardly see anything  i got some weightwatchers carrot cake for 50p tho :j the smart price mince at 50p was no where to be seen, i dont know if i would have bought it anyway shelves were clear, and i couldnt see anything else,

If you want Cheap free range eggs go to your local chicken farm. We always buy a tray (30 eggs) for £2.50 class A. They are the one rejected by M&S b'coz of odd sizes. There is nothing wrong with the eggs. Its just like everything else you pay for the brand. My o/h always buy the eggs every 3-4 weeks on his way to play hockey in Nottingham as the farm is about 17 miles from where we live.

I bought two packs of these today and the SEL stated it was a roll back from £1.78 to 0.52p. A good marketing ploy!!

things may go up, but the Smart price fruit juice has gone up by 232%. I think we should all bombard Asda customer service email to let them know they've been sussed.

    SOMERFIELD

Their own cheap / value / low price range (in the Yellow & White packaging)

    300g for just 29p

Don't know what they taste like or how crunchy etc., but worth trying a packet at this price !

With the Ginger nuts etc. have you tried crystallised ginger, not as cheap, but probably goo dto have in and travel with. Holland and Barett do them and lakeland do ginger nibbles £2. It may be that they are more cost effective in the long run (don't know just thinking if 1 nibble lasted longer than 1 biscuit, might save money). Do you like ginger beer or ginger ale. The best ginger beers are Idris or Jamaican IMO.

I was amazed to hear last night that Tesco will not be losing out in this price war. They put the price cut on their suppliers!!!!!!!!!

Just goes to show what a powerfull company they are!!!!!
