Which is why, for me personally, WW worked. Doesn't tell you what you can or can't have. You get so many points allocated to you a day, depending on weight, age etc...and each food and drink has a points score. So its completely up to you what you have. Thats why it worked for me. I don't do regimented either!

I lost 3 stone on WW about 5 years ago.

Put it all back on since, and more.

You can't do it and then stop - it doesn't work long term. ;)

I lost 3 stone on weight watchers 8 years ago and have only put about a stone on but my target weight made me between a size 8 and 10 and I was too thin.

I used to count points as then I could build in the odd Mars bar and Indian so I didn't feel like I was missing out. :rotfl:

Am now between a 12 and 14 and have no problems staying there. But I don't have any scales now as I got a bit obsessed with weighing myself.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

I've been on WW since November and lost a stone... I've had to cancel the subscription though, just can't justify spending £20 a week on getting weighed!

Went a bit off the rails the last week or so knowing that nobody is going to weigh me on Tuesday night.... But now I have all the information so hopefully I can get back on track on my own...

Even with the points though it still felt a bit restrictive to me...

    I did.

Granted I didn't follow the points system to the letter anymore, but it did teach me that my portions before WW were WAY too big and I got used to eating less and more sensibly.

  • There's quite a few good articles on https://www.weight-coach.org, although it seems like the site isn't finished yet.

http://weight-coach.org/howtoloseweight.html helped me think about why I keep losing weight and putting it back on again, and I feel much more level-headed about it now.

http://weight-coach.org/increasemetabolism.html is good on how to boost your metabolism.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Some people at work decided to do their own ww and each week got the scales out - no cost but still the incentive.

Maybe people could start their own weigh in thread to motivate them without the cost! i'd like to lose about 1/2 stone but only have 3 wks til wedding now so I ought to get off the computer abd go to the gym!!

Went to a friend's wedding yesterday tho and feel a bit rough!! :rotfl:

I think that's a good idea. I could do with losing half a stone or a few inches from my back would be good!!
