I never said you were 'unusual' that you were able to use the telephone, I am glad that you can, but I can't. You are taking this out of proportion, I am merely here to sort out my debts without being put at a disadvantage by a DCA. I have requested on numerous ocassions, please send in writing, but they seem to want to ignore my request - which I believe is nothing out of the norm. I am not here to offend anyone, I just want to sort things out for ME AND MY FAMILY.Opinions are like bottom holes, we all have one

well please do not state something that is untrue!! DCA are not ignoring requests due to you being deaf its just they way they work and you as a deaf person just need to find a way round it, you would prefer letters but thats not happening - so try something else - my sugguestion would be get someone to call on your behalf, state you are deaf and need to communicate another way - you situation isnt being discussed but you are letting them know you cant call, and would probably be more effective that a letter.
But please dont make out that deaf people are unable to use a telephone, there are enough barriers! You say you can't use a phone - its that you WON'T use one and thats the difference.

Oh, PLEASE, I have not stated something that is untrue - I am merely pointing out that the "DCA is deliberately putting me at a disadvantage" due to the fact that I cannot hear on my telephone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I don't think I am being unreasonable by asking them to communicate in writing only either.
Even if I was hearing, then I would ask them to put it in writing anyway so it makes no odds to them either way.

I am really upset about the remarks made here, especially since I've only mentioned my deafness in the past week or so. I have earlier on stated that I do not want my disability to have any bearing on the outcome of my debts, I just want them to read the letters that I send. x or is that too much to ask?.Opinions are like bottom holes, we all have one

Thank you for your support - it's much appreciated. The post which you were referring to was a particularly nasty attack I have to say.
For the sake of normality and getting back to the matter in hand, I've drafted up another letter, with a bit of luck they might just read it!!!!. :rolleyes:
