Shoppy, have you looked over on the OS board at Weezl's 50p challenge? She just finished her last challenge of feeding herself and OH for £40 a month (yes, a month) and actually had money left  Now she's got a new challenge of feeding herself and OH for 50p each a day until xmas

Hiya Jo - OMG I am going over there now for a nosy!!
  • Oh dear - DD (15) has just announced none of her bras fit her anymore and she needs new knickers and socks - having a trip to Matalan at lunch to see if I can pick up any bargains I have £9 in my purse (cobbled together from remainder of cash from cinema trip and money found from rifling through my bags/drawers/cupboards etc... this morning!) and I have a lamp to return which was faulty so that will be another £5, I am going to see what I can get for my £14 in order to try and avoid spending any of my £89.90 - wish me luck!!

I know I am not that badly off, I did say that in my introductory post, I have no desire to offend anyone who may be worse off, this is a personal challenge for me - not for anyone else, I am better off than this normally but due to my own stupid overspending I find myself having to cut back in order to clear my debts. I am using this thread as an exercise in self-control and had no intention of upsetting anyone :o
  • Ok, I got the refund on the lamp £5 back into my account making my total £94.90, I got the things DD needed which came to a total of £15.50 (bargain for multi-way bra, 8 pairs knickers and 5 pairs trainer socks) and decided to pay on my debit card and keep the £9 in my purse so totals now are:

    Bank Account £79.40

Purse £8.23 (bought necessary sanitary protection for 77p from ASDA!!)

I don't know if I can do this!!

  • :D I am glad to be of entertainment value if nothing else :rotfl:
  • Woohoo, just changed my tax credits to be paid into my bank monthly instead of getting a cheque every 4 weeks and they have paid me a one off payment of £1.95 and then are paying me £42.00 each month (instead of £41.83 every 4 weeks) so I am now the grand sum of £2.12p better off this month!!

    Total in bank now £81.52:T

    EVERY PENNY COUNTS:D

Well I too have enjoyed reading through this thread today and I'm rooting for you! Come on shop! You can do it!

Ok shout over. Let's see you must be nearly half way through the month now? 5 days in June and it's the 7th today that's 12 days in and payday is 25th I think? Another 18 days to go. How's the meal planning and shopping lists?

Love the UFOs, I wish I'd come up with that.

good luck with the rest of the month, but with so many of us watching how you're doing I'm sure you'll come in with cash to spare!

Good luck anyway (tho@ I'm sure you don't need it)!
