Oh dear, what is the damage on car tax? I have just replaced my 2L with a 1.4 so will be in cheapest one in Dec when mine is up for renewal0
-
Mine's a 1.4 too, so I reckon it'll be £145, it was £140 last year."I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

Good morning all
I did my weekly shop yesterday and spent £74.79 (more than I intended)
My running total remaining now stands at £200.92 which leaves me just £50 each week to spend:eek: am going to have to be really careful!
I did buy a couple of things I wouldn't normally which bumped up the total - £2.78 for OH car air freshener refill  told him it is cheapies from now on!
£2.99 for Parma ham to wrap roast pork - had no price ticket on shelf and I nearly died when I saw how much it was (should have asked before buying!)
£2.21 for sudocrem (my cure-all cream!!)
Anyway, my fridge and cupboards are well-stocked now and have lots of UFO's in the freezer, some of our veg is ready in the garden now too so we should start to see some benefit there - Salad leaves, mini cucumbers, pak choi and radish so far :T0 -
Well, been doing really well and not bought any 'rubbish' also been managing to eat what we have instead of constantly going out buying bits and pieces to complete a meal!
Today I have salad for lunch and have used all home-grown baby salad leaves (which normally cost a fortune and i always end up wasting some of the bag as they go off so quick!), baby cucumbers and radish (home-grown too) and tonight we are having pasta (morrisons value 19p) with home-made tomato sauce (batch cooked last week and frozen), bacon and mushrooms with a green salad (using home-grown leaves again) and garlic bread
So far so good and £200 still intact

Good going.
To my horror I realised that I have sent £25 by DD to my MBNA card that I paid off last month! So my current account is down by £25 and i now have £25 credit on the credit card! I'll have to remember to spend it on petrol next time i'm there...!
Soon I'll be sub £100 for the rest of the month!"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -
How annoying! Good luck with the rest of the month, I am worrying now - seems a long time till payday!0

Called at Sainsbury last night as we needed a couple of things, I bought
Milk x 2 4 pinters
Eggs
Persil non bio
Sliced beetroot
Beef stock cubes (basic range)
Chewy vitamin c
Wrigleys extra
Bagels bogof
Sushi Rice (for DD cookery lesson at school)
Sensations popadoms & Mango chutney (naughty treat!)
Total £19.28 which I didn't think was bad at all for Sainsburys!
Bringing my total remaining down to just £181.64
I have to go to Morrisons tonight for weekly shop so am going to have to be really careful - we don't really need much though, just fruit and veg mainly so fingers crossed for a very cheap one!!:o
I am taking DD to cinema tomorrow as she is dying to see Hancock, we are going to go to the matinee as I have just found out it is only £4.75 each instead of £6.80 in the afternoon:eek:0 -
Shoppy, have you looked over on the OS board at Weezl's 50p challenge? She just finished her last challenge of feeding herself and OH for £40 a month (yes, a month) and actually had money left  Now she's got a new challenge of feeding herself and OH for 50p each a day until xmas
If that's possible then anything is in my opinion!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Hey there. When you say you NEEDED to go to Morrisons, was it that you really needed to, did you have nothing left in the cupboards and in the ufo section of your freezer or is it just habit to go on a friday evening. I found that really going through the cupboards and freezer and thinking "ok. that's tea for tomorrow, oooh look dinner for the next day etc," meant that I could put off a supermarket shop for several days, saving money as I wasn't buying all the mindless splurges that you do in the supermarket.
Besides that, how you doing? I really have faith in you that you CAN do this. Keep on smiling.:DLBM £18463.32 in debt 10th June 2008,£12470.99 in debt 10th June 2009.:jTime flies like an arrow.

Hmm I did my weekly shop and spent far more than I should have - 71.74 to be exact, and with the 20 quid I took out to pay for cinema my total is now down to just 89.90
In answer to your question nutter, I probably could have scraped a couple more days meals together but we had completely run out of all fruit, veg and salad and we are trying to eat healthily so I felt I needed to go:D
We have loads of food in now though and I am going to write a list of meals for this week and get myself organised!!
On another note, since I have been doing this I have been noticing the price of EVERYTHING and good grief, how expensive are joints of meat these days?!!! I was going to get beef for Sunday lunch but the cheapest piece I could find was 3.70 and it was TINY, the medium chickens (which would have only just fed 3 of us with breast meat) were a whopping 4.58 so I plumped for a smoked ham joint for 3.50, it was from the smart price range at asda and it was quite fatty but we got three decent portions of lean meat out of it and I am going to do a pea and ham soup with the rest.
Oh and I forgot to hand in my bloomin coupons:rolleyes: - I will take them next time!!0
