WOW, I think you are doing really well, and I also believe that when you are broke you can survive... by watching the pennies really really closely, I have had a £5 in my purse to last me till tues since sat and im proud of myself cause all i have spent is parking for work today, but its made me think before i open my purse. You should try a challenge for yourself next month with a lower amount of money and if you manage it put the excess to any debts that you have. Your doing really well, keep it up!!0

Morning all
So nice to see so many of you interested in my thread! I hope I CAN do it or I will feel I have let you all down!
Today I am having a no spend day, going to sit in my car and read my book at lunch - saving fuel as well as not frittering cash on useless items!
Meal planning is working well, yesterday we had beef casserole in the slow cooker with dumplings made from some suet that had been lurking in the cupboard for ages! I need to finde some recipes to use up some other items I have had for ages, I think I will go on recipe finder and have a look, if anyone has any suggestions please post them, items are:
Caster sugar
Dessicated coconut
Black sesame seeds (bought for home made sushi ages ago!)
Powdered gelatin (can't even remember why I bought it!)
Pulse and barley soup-mix-type packet (used this in soup once - no idea what else it can be used for?)
Tonight is pork escalopes (reduced to half price) which I am going to cook in some lea and perrins sauce (back of cupboard find!) with couscous and roasted peppers (value), onions and courgettes -YUM!0 -
Sounds yummy.
Could make a cake or pud with coconut and sugar. If you wanted a main meal perhaps make a dhosa with the coconut and fill with cooked potato and sesame.
Could you use the soup mix to make a little meat go a long way in a casserole? Gelatin to make a real fruit jelly?CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -

Well, so much for no spend day yesterday, had forgotten that DD needed ingredients for cookery lesson at school tomorrow so that was £6.41 bringing my balance down to only £75.11

Money in my purse has gone too! - had to take back DD's bra as it didn't fit and the only one I could find in her size was an extra £2, plus she needed money for drama tomorrow (she is doing an end of term show) and extra bus fares £2.50p. I called for olive oil £2.53 (bl**dy co-op) as we had run out and the rest of my coppers went in the savings jar
Sooooo soa today is £75.11 in my account, 00000000 in my purse!

Not very good at cookery stuff myself, but I know that my mum makes meat balls with mince and vegetable soup-mix, so maybe that's an idea. She also puts it in stew.Total Debt: £0 [STRIKE]£33,043[/STRIKE]
