Last I checked, only US and UK addresses could be confirmed by paypal, regardless of the reality of what can be done by CC companies

Thank you all for your replies, I get the impression that some of you think I'm a complete thick so and so, and maybe you're right.
I just find this all so confusing as reading though posts over the last few months there is a lot of conflicting advice, only send to confirmed addresses, only send by trackable means, only use standard mail as people are put off by high postage costs, RD not being very good anyway as signatures don't always get put on RM website, it goes on and on.
I'll send my item to this guy, but I'm fully expecting him to put in a item not received/!!!! seller claim against me. I'll be snookered either way as it's not a confirmed address and not tracked.
Sorry, I'm being a right moaning old bag, just ignore me

It is a bit of a minefield OP and it's not surprising you're confused.
Basically, it's all about the level of risk you're willing to tolerate.
Low risk - confirmed paypal address + special delivery.
(Paypal protect you against chargebacks, SD protects you against loss)
Medium risk - unconfirmed address, overseas delivery to risky country
(No paypal cover, RM cover MAY pay out)
High risk - no confirmed address, no tracking, no proof of postage.
(No paypal cover, no RM cover)
Think about what the item is worth - and pick the category you feel safest with.My TV is broken!

So RM wouldn't even cover it if it went missing - is this just because they're a bit hit and miss, or because it's unconfirmed address?0 -

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse things further. I have edited my post.
Special delivery: high value insurance (I think £500?)
Recorded: very unreliable, prone to not arriving, or not being signed for, £34 of cover
Proof of posting only: £34 of cover, and RM likely to require buyer's cooperation in the event of a claim. My TV is broken!
