Paypal do not confirm most European addresses therefore there is no real benefit in sending it recorded or trackable0
-
Well, if you send it unrecorded 2nd, be prepared to lose the item. How much did it sell for?0

Ah, that could indeed be a problem! ... and perhaps why the buyer doesn't want to pay the delivery confirmation premium just because it's an overseas address. In his email (incidently it was sent directly to my email address, not via Ebay!), he said 2nd class (62p on my listing), so I'm sure he'd kick up a stink if I put Recorded Delivery on a new invoice!
Even if you send it to the UK address you won't be covered against a paypal claim for non-delivery.
Your best bet would be to opt for the UK address and ensure you get a PoP from royal mail and hope they pay out in case of claimed non-delivery by the buyer - but there's no guarantee the buyer will repond to the letter from RM, especially since he obviously doesn't live there."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Here's his reply:
My ebay details are quite correct. i have three homes dependent on time of year.
This item however is being sent as a gift.
I will make paypal payment in the amount specified.
Please confirm your email address required for the transfer.
Do you think he means that he now wants it sent to France?? Am a bit confused!0 -
Think that means the address he's given you is the person it's a gift for?0

My Paypal email address is the one you are currently using - please note that I am only able to send items to a confirmed Paypal address, so if this is the address in France, then all you need to do is click on the 'pay now' button on the invoice.
Not sure how it works if he has several addresses listed on his Paypal account - will he need to do a 'request payment' through Ebay showing the address he wants??0 -

I have several addresses listed on my account, just a case of changing the address before I make payment.
Be wary though of the fact that previous ops have mentioned. Paypal protection does not normally apply to european addresses.
It sounds like the buyer is going to be a major pain in the !!!!! going on current form.0 -

I don't get why the buyer is asking you to confirm the email address for the transfer. What transfer? If they're paying by PayPal, they just click Pay Now & it's all done. This all sounds a bit odd!!! I had someone buy a jewellery item from me in Germany but they wanted me to send it to Africa, they said they've sent a money order + an extra amount for shipping abroad. I told them in so many words to get lost, reported them to Ebay & funnily enough, later the same day, they were no longer registered users. I said I only accept PayPal too & only ship within the UK. I was being scammed. That buyer had only signed up to ebay that very morning too so had zero feedback.0 -

That's all well and good if he does, but as far as I can see, I can't choose which one I can send an invoice too (the only one that comes up is the French one). As I mentioned above (I think... I'm losing track of things now!), I am reluctant to change the postage and have to honour sending to France for a lot less than it should go!0 -
Is the address he wants sending to in the UK?
If so, charge him for postage for the UK, send him a new invoice and check that the details match the address that he gave you earlier and only send to the address on the Paypal payment mail.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
