Is the address he wants sending to in the UK?
If so, charge him for postage for the UK, send him a new invoice and check that the details match the address that he gave you earlier and only send to the address on the Paypal payment mail.
He wants me to send to an address in the UK, but the only address I have is a French one - I don't want to re-issue for a UK postage price when I have no idea if he has a confirmed UK address or not.
Some may say what's the point given a European address is unconfirmed, as far as I can see, I may be leaving myself wide open if I do as he's asking.
I have been thinking of asking him to pay the invoice and I will then refund the surplus when I see the UK confirmed address on the Paypal receipt.
Do you think this is the way to go?? I feel that I'm going round in circles here!0 -

The address you are seeing for him is on his eBay account though, until he pays you, you won't see the address which you have to send it to (which is on file with Paypal), so if he is saying it is a UK address, I'd trust him on it and if the payment does come through with a French address on it, just refund him and say you won't be carrying on with the transaction.
If it's a UK address, I'd charge him for recorded delivery too, just so you have tracking number incase he should need or want to claim from Paypal (because he does seem to be a bit of a pain!).Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Put it this way, the current buyer appears to have an address in France and an address in the UK. Let's assume the buyer has added them both to paypal. If the buyer originally asked for the item to be sent to the UK address, he could simply have paid the second class (non-recorded) postage and item cost using ebay checkout. You wouldn't know until he paid whether the address was confirmed or not.He wants me to send to an address in the UK, but the only address I have is a French one - I don't want to re-issue for a UK postage price when I have no idea if he has a confirmed UK address or not.

Would you have sent the item? Or would you have refunded and insisted the address had to be confirmed even though you would have no seller protection as the item was not sent using a online trackable delivery service?
What's the difference now? Just tell the buyer you will only send to the (confirmed) address provided by paypal when he pays."Now to trolling as a concept. .... OK, so I'm obviously far to thick to be using Ebay, I've gone into the 'send invoice' section in order to reissue the invoice and it won't let me change the postage to a UK postage.
Can anyone shed any light on what I'm doing wrong??
Sorry in advance for being stupid - I've never had a problem like this before, so am a bit out of my depth.0 -
You are trying to send an invoice to the buyer where ebay is looking at a French address. That address will not change.
You need to ask your buyer what paypal confirmed address he wants the item sent to. When he answers, send him an invoice for the total that takes into account of the P&P charge to the confirmed paypal address. When the buyer pays check that the address is confirmed and is the one where he said. If not, refund and email him.0 -

Thank you, I did wonder if it had anything to do with the French address!!!0 -
Well, I changed the invoice, and guess what.... it's an unconfirmed UK address, I just knew this would happen!
Do you reckon he'll neg me/set up a non performing seller dispute if I refund based on the fact that his address is unconfirmed?0 -
I have a registered address here and in the US on my paypal account. If I am in the States I have the items sent to the US address and not the UK.
I can choose which address to send it to when I pay, so your Buyer should be able to do the same. Your Buyer needs to add their UK address to their paypal account.0 -

The UK address is on his paypal payment but it's unconfirmed, what would he need to do to have it confirmed??
Apologies for being a dunce, I'm having trouble accessing a lot of websites as our server is being worked on today, this seems to be one of the few I have had no problems with!!0 -
Whats the problem with their unconfirmed address?
If you are not sending the item using an online trackable proof of delivery, you have no protection anyway
According to paypal:

Sending to an unconfirmed address.
Most unconfirmed addresses are not fraudulent, and sellers don’t usually experience problems with them. When you do deliver to an unconfirmed address, PayPal encourages you to be alert and minimise risk by following our Security Tips for Sellers.
How a buyer can confirm an address.
Tell your buyer to confirm their address by adding a debit or credit card to their PayPal account. PayPal will confirm the card billing address where possible (the address where you receive your card statement).
However if the person lives in France and actually has a credit card, I suspect the billing address is in France too so doubt it can be confirmed."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
