A friend of mine printed the pictures out last night and pinned them to the board at work. I now have my first 2 orders, one blue and one pink :D I wasn't expecting it but I am happy :)

These 2 I have charged £20 but that includes postage down there to them so only making a little bit of profit, but that will go straight into childrens bank accounts :)

Can I ask do you use cellophane on yours? how do you get them to look good still with the cellophane?

Yes, I have to say that when I had DS, I was given a pack of nappies. (Not even in a nappy cake). And it was definitely one of my best presents. How I would have loved a nappy cake. And you're right, grandparents will love to buy them as presents.

I'm not even pregnant (trying thou) but I want one.

  • i've been looking at makign things and selling them and OH suggested a good way to do it is charge materials plus V.A.T. (and any P&P costs of course)

If you just charge for materials and the vat you won't make any profit. I sat down and priced up literally everything that I used in one cake, working out how much each nappy cost me etc going off full prices then if they were on a deal then it worked out even better. Can't say selling them will be easy but at the moment I am sticking to family and friends. I have friends advertising at work.

These look fantastic - well done!

I have new neice/nephew due in November so think I will tackle the nappy one then finish off with pink/blue once they arrive. What do you put in the middle to keep them so straight and together?

    Thanks
