Am ok thanks hun, just the usual rollercoaster, have PMed you xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
And while I'm here.. found a few more things to think about doing - another book club, whose list of books they've already read is really interesting - just waiting for them to update their website with next month's choice and date.
Still trying to decide about the ballet class (Mondays) and/ or salsa class (Tuesdays).. none of them are hugely expensive but it does all add up! Have heard really good reports on the new council gym here too so going to look into that when I get back from holidays - no point in paying monthly subs when I'm away for a fortnight!
Hmm, what else, have decided I really need to get new glasses before I go away, these ones are a bit wobbly after their accident the other day and I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of Europe unable to see anything. Going to look out my prescription when I get home and if it's still 'in date' (can't remember), going to try out one of the online places for glasses.. have seen a really nice pair for £15Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Morning all! Had a nice lie in this morning, still pottering about in my PJs before I go over to friend's this afternoon. Bought my new glasses last night, never used one of the online places before so hopefully they'll be ok - they were only £22.50 including postage and lens coatings so it's not the end of the world if they're not.. makes a change from the £250 I spent last time I bought glasses!
Balanced up that spending a bit with a 'free' shop in Tesco thanks to a voucher I had (though did spend part of that on wine to take with me today, a lovely Chilean Sauvignon Blanc).. and had £20 cheque from MutualPoints arrive this morning.
Got a train journey to sit and think on this afternoon, so will hopefully come up with some plans for next week... it's going to be busier than usual at work but want to get to at least one class or something that I don't usually do.
Hope everyone who pops in has a lovely weekend xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hope the glasses are nice. I get my daughters online and they are fab playboy ones...about 100 cheaper than in the shops, and last time a got a pair half price, so the mark up on these must be astronomic on the high st.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Which site do you use Bob?
These are the ones I got - have tried similar on in shops and think they suit me OK...
Only disadvantage is having to wait, am used to using one hour places and going home with them the same day as I've chosen them!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
spex4 less, my brother uses a site abroad somewhere..i will have to hunt the site name, and he gets those titanium, rimless ones for less than £20, he also has strong lenses.

Here you go Bob - http://www.glassescomplete.co.uk/buy_glasses/full_rim/gc_fenella/ - big advantage of this one for me was that they take Paypal so could use a few quid I had floating about in there. Will check out others though!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Oh yeah, i have heard of those. They have a shop in a place called Botany bay, near me..they often have sales on and you can try the specs on. You pay for the frames in the shop and send em off with your prescription to their factory in Manchester.
I like them by the way, v.trendy.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
