Hope you are feeling better now and i like the idea of the language classes.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

For once I don't blame the bus driver, more the idiot that ran in front of him! Am fine now, got a bit of a sore neck/ shoulders but I suspect that's more to do with lots of typing today.
As for the decisions above, I'm thinking..
1) Go to work gym, at least it's free.
2) Probably go to evening classes, I did say I'd use the £60 extra tax on that - have to apply by post by Monday or go to the enrolment evening next Tuesday. Been doing some sample online classes tonight which are good but when it comes to speaking it's better to have real live people!
3) Still dunno about work night outDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Do you really want to go on the night out squizz? if so then go for it and have some fun but if not don't get dragged into it because you feel you must - life's too short.Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

The classes were partly *about* meeting new people, weren't they, Squizz? Seems right to go to the actual classes, in that case. You're doing the exercise the cheap way, at the free work gym, so you can afford to do the language properly - and this is potentially about your career, so you need to give it your best shot, and like you say you need people for that.
Work night out... hmmm.... whats the pros and cons?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yep you're right Karma, guess the money for the classes is worrying me but it is worth it.
Work night out.. on one hand, it's a night out and I like the place they're going for food. On the other, it's spending money and I'm basically not sure I can be bothered!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Edinburgh marathon looks good....I would also have reservations about night out if they are being !!!!!y at work..but if most of them are good company then go for it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Yeah I think I will go for the marathon, just need to figure out finances to work out when I can afford to enter.. or go for a charity place?
Just realised that Spanish class is on one of the nights that the gym is open so will have to finish work early, do an hour in the gym and then quickly nip home for food before going out again! Got my form for the class printed out to do cheque tonight and send off :j
Being non-committal about the night out, I don't think I can really be bothered with it but I might change my mind. Hopefully going out with OH on Saturday so would be happy with a quiet night in on Friday.
I think I might perhaps be antisocial....:rotfl:

Nah not antisocial..just MSE. I always think it is better to suit yourself than other people at times. If it is right for you then that is the thing to do!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I know you're right really Bob - I do wonder if there's something wrong with me though when other people jump on any and every opportunity to go out. Dunno if I've just got used to having so much time to myself but I really seem to need it!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
