MBNA Annual Fee

I have an "Abbey" branded card and I haven't received any such letter from MBNA. I assume from what people are saying that the letters are quite explicit in spelling out that you will be charged an annual fee and it's not just a case of "here's our revised T&Cs" and the annual fee is hidden away somewhere in the small print.
Yes, the letter advising of the forthcoming annual fee was a specific letter, not related to anything else (except to point out the wonderful benefits of being a cardholder!).....0 -
I have a Sonycard which was originally HBOS but moved to MBNA. It hasnt been used in months but nor have I had a letter saying they are going to charge me a fee so I guess it is just selected cards.0

That answers my question as well. I have two, second one was from a very much pressurised phone-call, telling me all about the points I would earn by using this card. That was early summer and I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet.

Yeah, I know they outsource part of their sales to India as it costs less. But not if you are calling them to query your account.
It is still English based with 4000 UK employees working for them.
I find the staff to be really friendly and helpful and proud to own an MBNA card. The service they provide cannot be beat! Believe me!!! Im also with apital One!!
Ok, some customers are gonna complain about them, but why? Beause they dont read the terms and conditions and are not clued up on their responsibilities as a card holder.
Now...If MBNA ever decide to cut jobs and move their UK base over to India and make thousands redundant, then I will be at the front of the que to destroy my card.
But from the convos Ive had with them over the years, I find that MBNA really are one of the best Credit card companies I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. :beer:0 -
Mmmmmmmmm! What was the weather like this morning stuck in all that traffic trying to get to Chester Business Park?
The food to feed the chicken battery hens in one of those subsidised restaurants is pretty good value though I'll give you that.0 -

What if you don't physically receive the notice - it's not like they're applying it to ALL accounts - and lets face it, the postal service isn't 100% reliable. They could also add the fee and claim they sent out a notice.
Unless they can prove you've received that specific notice, surely it is unenforceable ??

Hi alex, is is it BA Amex points in particular who are "addicted" to?
MBNA have a MBNA Platinum Plus card that gives points. As mentioned earlier in this thread they phoned me and twisted my arm to take out this new card. I already have MBNA abbey card. I know I have too many cards and rarely use any of them. They were a novelty at the start but that has worn off now. I find it more convenient to pay on the spot and then I know better how I stand.
Only time I use card is for the very odd internet purchase.0
