Hi all and (((hugs))) to all those with injuries and food poisoning, illnesses and anxieties.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello: I'm afraid I haven't waved to you every day recently. Sorry!
Whatatwit - yes I was here earlier but thought it was too early to start the thread. I ended up dozing off on the sofa. I'm not sleeping very well at the moment - I get to sleep alright then I end up wide awake just three or four hours later. I try and get back to sleep but can't so I get up and then, half an hour later, I'm tired out but I daren't go back to bed because I worry that I won't hear the alarm! I think I've ended up in a vicious circle but DH is going away on Saturday for up to two weeks so I think I'll be able to get back to normal then! I end up worrying about things and, with DH being self-employed, that throws up all kinds of worries and anxieties. I just wish he would get what I call a 'proper' job - the paperwork that goes with being self-employed these days is a nightmare and this week, because I've been unwell for the last couple of weeks, it has really got me down.
Anyway, enough of my moaning - I'm feeling fragile and self-pitying at the moment and I've no right to be like that when I think of what others on here are going through. So please ignore the last paragraph!
The sun is shining after a gloomy and cold weekend - I don't think it's actually summer weather but it looks cheerful again. I have a load in the WM to go out and need to prep the veg for tonight's bubble-&-squeak, sausages and beans. I should make something for pudding but I can't be bothered; I found two nectarines in the fridge so they'll do. I must also hoover and dust now that DH has finished the porch (well, apart from the final coat of gloss on the door). It looks lovely so it was well worth the hassle I had yesterday helping him put up the guttering! We also have a letter box in the door, too, having gone a few days without one!
DS2 texted just now to say that the cat has finally sussed out the new catflap that he and DH installed last week so hopefully there'll be no more hollering outside the bedroom window at three in the morning when the cat decides he wants to come back in!
Anyway, must go and get the rest of the chores done and get stuck into the paperwork; the never-ending paperwork.
Hope everyone has a good day and I'll call back later - I'll have read the thread properly by then!

Morning all, I haven't read last couple of days posts so I am behind in events, will catch up later.
Having a great time with DB here in sunny Spain. The party was a big success, only 2 people fell in the pool.
I'm doing my ms bit over here. I brought out some Stardrops which came in very handy for cleaning after the party, DB and SiL think it's the best thing since sliced bread. Did the vinegar/paper bit on the glass doors, covered in finger prints, now streak free.
DB had his blood count test on Friday, it was up a little but not enough to start panicing, we all know the inevitable will happen one day but for now DB is feeling positive so I must be the same.
DB has to stay in for tv box man coming to fix it so DH and I will go touring and hopefully stock up on bargains, pressies for Xmas/Bdays.
Off to catch up. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) to all in need.0 -
Morning all,
Starting the week shattered after a tough weekened of work (as usual). Still, made good headway into the marking pile, so I'm happy about that. Dr Jeckyll is AWOL again (we think he's in Korea, but we're not sure), so it's a bit more relaxed here too.
had a really dull weekend, OH had hired a car for some reason, so I thought he'd had something planned, but he hadn't
. Was slightly confused as we really can't afford to do that sort of thing unless there is a good reason. *sigh*
I am getting to the past caring stage. I just want to leave and do something else - anything else. I have to stay until October 10th, but I'm counting down the days.
Anniestar - hugs for you
Hester & hilstep - hope you both feel better soon
Stefjb - that's awful. Hope your DD just thought he was joking about the diet and didn't take it to heart.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Morning everyone
(((anniestar))))
Good luck with the hospital pennypincher
Woke up early so have been checking e mails and amazon etc.
Have had fingers crossed that my new "Panny" would not arrive when DH is in and sees it so checked when it would be delivered.
Amazon now say around the 16th of July! Instead to swap it for old BM and put it in the same place and see if DH notices! If he does then will thank him sweetly for my early birthday present;)
Have emptied kichen bin and have it soaking in hot water, bleach and cleaning solution.
We are goung through fresh milk really quickly at the moment so will see if DH can give me a lift to Farm Foods as I think they have an offer on milk.
Going upstairs to strip our bed and then switch on the washing machine and have a nice shower in peace."This site is addictive!"

Good morning:D
Just a very quick post from me, as in the last 10 minutes three jobs have arisen which will occupy my entire morning and then some:rolleyes: And not a bit OS at all:o
But I wanted to say, mioliere, please don't worry about waving to me:o You have tons on your plate, and it's obviously affecting you, sleepwise etc. I'd hate the worries you, and all self-employed people have these days. Goodness even being employed is fearful enough, will the job still be there in a month or three. You are always so supportive of everybody on here, you must allow us to (((hug))) you, when you need one:D Hope you feel better soon. The only *fragile* round here is when I've indulged the wine bottle a little too much:o :rotfl:
anniestar, ((hugs)) to you and DH. Remembered in my prayers.
Hope everyone has a good day, must dash.
CMxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Morning,
Been another lovely sunny day here. Did some baking this morning, 2 sultana cakes & a batch of choc chip bickies. After lunch I went for a walk up to the swimming enclosure. DD has asked me to go for a walk each day and get a bag of dried seaweed stuff off the beach area  for his garden. I feel a real wally doing it  but I suppose it's giving me exercise.
XDIL & DGS came to visit this arv and brought me all her curtains so I'll hem them tomorrow. DH bought me home this humungus pumpkin on Friday so I'll have to make some soup out of it this week. DSIS came out of hospital today and is doing fine. My brother just rang and he's a poppy again. Can't believe we are all granny's & poppy's. Where does the time go.
Celyn  Happy Birthday maybe.
Moiliere Look after yourself and rest up. I know exactly how you feel. Having your own business/self employed isn't fun and games.
Ruby Hope your hair turned out nice.
Haribo  Are you still alive?
Well <hugs> to those not well or down. Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning everybody :hello:
((((Hugs)))) to all who need them, especially anniestar :grouphug:
Haven't been on for several days as I've been really busy! This week, fortunately, should be a quiet one. I am going out on Wednesday and Saturday evenings but that should just be a bit of beer money.
I was doing a bit of research on my mortgage last night and started making some financial plans. My fixed rate is finishing at the end of November, and because the flat is shared ownership my choice of lenders is limited and it is almost certainly not worth the hassle of trying to leave Nationwide and go elsewhere. The fixed and tracker deals at the moment don't give much advantage over the standard variable rate and in some cases are higher. Well, who knows what will happen to the economy between now and November, but at the moment it is looking as though I should let my deal lapse to standard variable rate - briefly - and as soon as I'm not tied into an overpayments limit I should empty the contents of my savings account into my mortgage before potentially committing to a new fixed or tracker deal. In "today's money" it would enable me to keep my monthly payments at their current level while taking a good chunk off the capital. On the other hand, if interest rates rise much more in the next few months I might have to rethink how I juggle things... Will keep tabs on the situation and see what my options are.
At any rate, it's made me realise that I have been quite frivolous with my money recently and could really be putting it to better use. Time for a bit of belt-tightening methinks, so as to maximise the amount I can throw at it.
rchddap1 - lovely to see you again - I was just thinking of you the other day, and wondering where you had got to!
Need to do some cooking tonight as the freezer is chock full of ingredients but completely out of prepared meals. I'm thinking of doing pasta or rice with one of my culinary standards, a sausage and tomato sauce. One day this week I'll make HM pizza - got all the ingredients sitting in the cupboards/fridge, so an obvious choice.
My grocery challenge total is woefully out of date as I didn't update it all last week, so will get that sorted after work before I show my face on the GC thread again
The good news is I'm well under budget, the bad news is that I've blown the saving on other things
Gosh I'm really waffling today! Must get moving. See you later.
Love Rzl xx
