I avoid buying drinks and snacks when on mystery shops; if necessary, I take my own lunch and drinks.

Hi all!
I started mystery shopping over a week ago with GFK and it has been a great experience, so thank you to all the people on this thread who have unknowingly helped me out.
I recieved my first assisnment from bare today and would like to know what their questionnaires are like, do they take long filling in compared to GFK.
Also since Bare will be paying me in Euros, will my bank charge for this.0 -

I don't think there is usually an explicit fee to receive euros by direct credit into a UK sterling bank account but you will probably find that the exchange rate includes a 'loading'.
When you receive your money, calculate the exchange rate and compare it with historic rate data available from here:

If the rate is better than interbank + 2% I think you are probably doing pretty well.0 -

How flash of you Paul - you quite out-did my wee post :rotfl:
Forgive my poor knowledge what is interbank?0 -
CookInMummy:
I actually learnt about interbank rates by reading what Martin says about foreign exchange. See here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/overseas-money-transfers
I use a Nationwide account because it gives a good rate when spending overseas (basically the interbank rate). But I think for foreign deposits (such as from BARE) there is a small loading of 1%-2%. I have also paid US Dollar cheques into both Halifax and Nationwide accounts and found that Nationwide charges a lower fee for USD cheque deposits than Halifax and also has a better exchange rate. My experience of cheque deposits has only been by negotiation (not collection).0 -
