The mystery shopping thread - part 4

I would have been happy to continue if they hadn´t stiffed me on the fee, but asking you to do a shop on the same day is a bit short notice!
Well, I gave MS a go, and it was quite fun, but I don´t put up with being messed around.0 -
HAAAAAAAAAAAA it gets even funnier.
I´ve just had a generic email appealing for shoppers for the same job - from the same person who refused me the full fee - and they´re not even offering a higher rate for these ´urgent´ jobs.
Have they heard of the word ´incentive´?0 -
Good point about the half thing, I use my laptop on the whole for mystery shopping but I could put half down I guess, it sounds good does that.0

Slightly off topic, but with all these jobs listed on RE, I hope the system can cope when it comes to inputting the results ! As some of the jobs are for a specific day, so could imagine 100s of people trying to input results !0

At least the RE system is more reliable than Gyp
So fingers crossed

Just thought I'd mention a laptop wouldn't be classed as an 'expense' as such as it would last several years so should be entered under the Capital Allowance section which is bit more complicated. I do my husbands S/E accounts and add any hardware or items that will last a while to this 'pool'. I won't try to explain it as my head is foggy enough today!learning_to_drive wrote: »Good point about the half thing, I use my laptop on the whole for mystery shopping but I could put half down I guess, it sounds good does that.
But it means you can calculate whatever percentage you actually use for business and add it to the pool, whether its 10% or 30% or 50% etc. And each year you calculate the WDA (Writing Down Allowance) which is a percentage of the current pool value. It was 25% this year though Timne will correct if I'm wrong.
A couple of years ago you could use 100% WDA for IT equipment but this no longer applies and the rules do change each year.
It does sound complicated but is actually just a little bit of math

The last time i did a RE job, system crashed, very annoying at least I had the long text parts saved in word. I always do this now to be on the safe side and its always useful to have in case you get any questions back.
My deepest apologies DW - I'll ensure my next post is MUCH more useful to u.0 -
Hello to everyone and hope that this sunshine is brightening all lives around. This is the first time i have dared to venture further in to this site so please excuse my ignorance. Could someone possibly tell me what its all about? I'm a self employed female decorator and for the first time in years the work has dried up. I stumbeled across this section of the forum and im totally intrigued. Could somebody please educate me as i am trying to bring in some extra revenue to cover the mortgage
I look forward to your return
Warmest regards
Marie0
