Thanks Timne for clarifying the new rules. I take it the new AIA replaces the old Capital Allowance system? Hmmm, just wondering what happens with the remaining pool from 2007/8.......

Crumbs I am so not looking forward to doing 2 sets of accounts next year ;(

No it's just another level - it's part of FYAs so where there used to be a 100% FYA, this is identical (although limited to £50,000, which most MSers will cope with! ;))

Have to say I looked at the pub jobs but you only get a [pretty basic] meal and [small fee] and you have to answer about 100 questions.

Think i will give it a miss.

The last one I did was 105 questions, but http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1035547 is designed to make this a bit easier for you...:D

It depends what it says, if it is only £5, then that is all you will get. Some coffee/sandiwich shops dont really give much more than a sandwich and coffee, ok if you are in the area and want a free lunch but def not worth travelling for. Check if it says a fee extra.

well I've just booked my first with RE and don't feel exactly hopeful about the cost/benefit argument but I'll give them one chance. Funny they don't let you choose more than one assignment as a newbie - maybe they have prior experience of newbies bailing out after the first one due to stress...

I couldn't agree more - I don't even bother logging on to RE any more, their jobs are so beyond worth doing that I don't even look out for them!

There are currently some wine shops on there, which don't have too bad a questionnaire, but on the whole, I agree with you.
