    I'm fed up too :(

On Friday I had a spanish restaurant place to MS, which is a good 45 minutes one way car trip from my home, but as my best buddy and I were going anyway to hit the charity shops, I thought it would be a nice treat for us. When we got there it was shut, even though it was supposed to be open. I was going to cancel it , but my boyfriend said that he didn't mind driving all that way, so we went last night instead. Everything was great until got the bill. I had to order two specific dishes, but the waiter said that the dishes were on a new menu and that the till hadn't been set up properly yet, so charged us for two paellas instead, so this is what is on the bill (normally I wouldn't mind because the two paellas cost less than the two main meals which I had to order!).

So I'm worried I'm not going to get paid now. E-mailed MS Co to explain, although its only 9am so don't expect a reply yet lol. I am going to be sooo annoyed if I don't as not only was it a 70 mile round trip I spent nearly £40 on a meal. It was a lovely meal but I haven't really got £40 to waste!

This was on top of a Gyp petrol station yesterday that was closed for refurbishment and judging by the prices on the forecourt it had been closed for a least a month! E-mailed them and obviously not heard anything back!

As for Gyp I'm going to wait until I'm settled into my new "proper" job, and then I'm going to sue them as I haven't been paid correctly yet (I'm waiting because as soon as I start the process I don't think they'll want me do any more work for them lol). I may also sue them for the jobs that they have cancelled on me too! I just feel as though they treat everyone like sticky brown stuff on the bottom of a shoe. Its wrong as they only do it because they know they can get away with it!

I tell you - how do they expect to get away with these things. Most of us are intelligent human beings for crying out loud. I mean Timmne's an Accountant for example (you are aren't you!!!) and thank god my husband is too. Do they honestly think were thick enough to be taken for a ride like this? Don't they realise that we keep records of work done/to do. If I don't get paid properly over the next few months I will e-mail to explain but won't hesitate in going through the Small Claims Court if I have too as a last resort. Luckily I work within a legal environment so I'm used to filling in Court forms! May I just say though on the other hand I've just got paid by GR. They are brill at paying. Never had a problem. They are quick, efficient and always reply to e-mails. Maybe GYP should take a leaf out of their book. Thank you GR x

Can anyone please clarify something for me? With Optimum Contact, is the due date the actual date the job must be done - or just the last possible date? I'm assuming it's the last date as I think I read that somewhere, but I've got myself so confused reading all the different MS company websites, and I can't find that specific answer.

    Thanks

The job has to be done (and reported) by the closing date. You can do it any time in the month it relates to until that date. So if you accept a job today which closes on 24th August, it will probably say something in the brief about it being an August job. You can submit your results any time between doing the job on Aug 1 and Aug 24.

In some cases this means the job HAS to be done before the closing date - for example, I have just done a job for them where you had to allow time, after doing your part of the job, for the company being MSed to respond to your initial query, so you had until the day before the cutoff to do your part of the work (except for filling in the question asking when they rang you back).
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

No. I'm just about to start work as a Psychiatrist of all things :D Just spent two years doing a MSc in Psychology and thought that MSing would be an extra bit of cash. How wrong I was :rotfl:

When the MS goes well then it's great and I think this is the only reason why I've kept up with it. You get a free meal/shopping/clothes and yes there is a bit of legwork involved, and sometimes you have to write a thesis, but at least you have the flexibility of working when you like etc

It just seems as though when it goes wrong, it goes really wrong and it is such a pain to get anything sorted. Then to make matters worse, you are treated as an imbecile  How many e-mails and instructions have you received saying in no uncertain terms if you don't do x, y and z then YOU WILL NOT GET PAID! Reply to this e-mail within 2 minutes or YOU WILL NOT GET PAID!

It's like the spanish restaurant. I am willing to put money on the fact that I won't hear anything from the MS Co and then I'll feel obliged to fill out their thesis of a report, otherwise I'll get marked down for submitting a report late (which has happened before, even though I was waiting for a response from them before I could fill the thing out and had e-mailed four times to get that response) and then they won't pay me because of what it says on the receipt, but use the report anyway!

My undergraduate degree is in Law, so I know all about contract law and I'm not frightened to fill out a few forms for the Small Claims Court. I'd love to hear if anyone has actually gone through with it and what the outcome was ;)

Here's a classic example. Had this e-mail. What's all this about?!?

    Dear Shoppers,
This is just a reminder to our all great shoppers who have assignments to be completed for any client in July. We look forward to the results for these assignments as soon as possible after completing it. We really need your co-operation and support to make us achieve our target successfully.
Your help will be greatly appreciated . Could you please express the results as soon as possible when you have completed the assignment .Please check your home page for your assignments and make sure that you read the paperwork; by doing this you will also be able to confirm whether or not you have selected the right date for the assignment.Thank you for your co-operation.
If you have any questions please email to us at xxxx and please mention both the assignment number and your shopper code. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any issues with regards to assignments.
    Thanking You
I'm a bit put out because I've never submitted assignments late. As for contacting them with problems what a joke! I'm still waiting for a response for my closed down petrol station from yesterday.
Just wondering if this is a generic e-mail. I hope so, because if not, someone is going to feel the wrath of a red head LOL

Nope, it's a guessing game unfortunately. Keep a tally and see if everything adds up at the end of the next month.
