I haven't started my diary yet, but I do plan to very soon. Some days are harder than others to stay on track, especially this time of year! It's so tempting just to buy for the sake of it. Be it sugar biscuits, sweets, sparkly trousers , a round of drinks. You name it, the temptation is there...
Keep strong and we'll get there...

I fully agree. I joined in May 2006 and had starts and stops and starts again and then stops at getting rid of my debt, still borrowing, losing track etc etc so I know its difficult and then winter time, cold, Christmas etc makes it even harder.
I have found having a diary - although I dont usually write a lot is a big help and you feel guilty if you havnt done well or not cleared any debt etc. It gives an incentive to keep on track.
Anyway - as you rightly say - We will get there!Total Debt now £22,525.07 Start Debt £32,732.36

Piquant,
You have a similar amount of debt to me, so it would be good to see how you are getting on with it. Mine will be at a it of a standstill until Feb (except for minimum payments) as I want to give myself a bit of a break over Xmas and not go any further into debt.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Good morning Hobsch,
Yeah, your right about December being a bad month for paying off debts. I am just going to be able to pay off a bit here and a bit there. The same for January! It's going to be 2 slow months for me!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Morning Hobsch!
The overall total's still going down - well done! December's a horrible month for clearing debt, I'm just trying to keep December's balance the same and really hit it in the new year.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

As long as it is going down that is the main thing. You can only do so much and the main thing is that it isn't rising.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Exactly!! well said!! Mine might have to go up a little this month, as my car has chosen this time to blow it's exhaust! Come January though, I'm hitting the debt so hard it will hurt!
