Have kept up the PAD challenge and that is helping, slowly but surely in reducing the debt total. I have got a jar for silver coins and that is filling up nicely. I have managed to not use any of the coins and stopped myself counting how much is there.

£50 paid towards Egg Loan and £20 towards Barclayloan.

Running wise did a 7.2 mile run on Monday and 2.5 miles last night with a run planned for Sunday so pleased about that.

Been off work - Holiday days needed to be taken. Not very MSE as decorating and cleaning the house and ended up buying bits I needed for both jobs but was good to get them done. Of course also nice to have time off.

Did 2 long runs (for me) of 9 miles and 7 miles which was very pleasing for fitness.

Did sneak into old habits of drinking Coca-Cola while off work. Will sort that out though! Started back at work today, didnt buy coke - came prepared with some orange squash and put the £1.50 I would have spent towards Barclaycard in my Payment a day challenge.

Just an update as I realised this morning I had hit 28% of my debt paid off. Not a fantastic or amazing fact but another little milestone to keep oneself motivated.

    Roll on the next one.

  • Hey,

Well done you! I bet you can't wait to get to the 30% mark as well! I haven't worked mine out in percentage terms but I might do now. Another way to keep me motivated!

I know for me any 'milestone' is a motivator. Getting £1K paid off, £2K, £3K etc. Over £9K now so looking for the £10K.
Percentage of debt paid off is as you say another way and it always feels good to see it go up. Its a shame its taken this long to from 25% to £28% but I am into clearing it more now so hope that keeps increasing.

30% is my next target and then 33.33333333333% when I can say a third has been paid off.

    Thanks for the message.

Well done Hobsch, that's a large chunk gone already. All the hard work will be worth it.

I wish I knew how to work out the percentage of what you have paid off. Maths was never my best subject (I guess the credit card bill proves that:o)

Maths and figures not a strong point either for me I'm affraid.

I believe you take away the amount paid from the start debt
IE: £24,534.37 minus £22,169.28 = £2365.09 (of debt paid off)
Then £2365.09 divided by the start debt £24,534.37 = 0.096
So you have paid 9.6% off so far. So Well Done you for that.

    Hope that helps.
