Well, if you get close the cornicing doesn't look amazing, but not too bad. I kind of overloaded the brush to get in the gaps on the first coat, then tidied up on the other coats.
the flat end panels etc...were easy. I used a roller for an even finish - looks a bit odd with a paint brush.

What colour do you want to do it? If you're fancying a dark cream or green poundland have crown cuboard paint in at the minute, bargain at a pound a can. they also have platinum which is a soft lilac colour - could look fab in the right kitchen. and a bargain price. for around 15 doors I'd suggest you need 4-5 cans - it takes a few coats on darker wood. But it is fairly hard work if your cuboards have indentations etc... like mine - so might as well do a colour you like for the hassle it is.
that said you could get a couple of cheap cans as a base coat for the colour you do want!
  • i've brought some cream paint for B&Q a while ago just need to get the rollers and get cracking!:) i'm looking forward to it although i know its gonna be hard work!:)
especially all the sanding, does this have to be done a lot?
    :money:
  • Just want to thank the OP for this post, I saw this post the first day (felt bad lurking all the bargains and not thanking op for this so eventually got round to signing up!) so THANK YOU!!!! My cupboard doors - cherry modern - were delivered last week to my bil's and I'm expecting them delivered here to us today or tomorrow (B&Q won't deliver to where I live so had to get them delivered to my bil's and then get another courier to take them to us, probably will cost more in delivery than the cupboard doors cost).

Anyway I've saved a fortune through this as I was badly needing doors for my cupboards, can't wait to get them up, will hopefully post pics when it's done.

    Anyone else managed pics??

I didn't sand...the cupboard paint doesn't say you need to...obviously the durability might be affected if you don't, but my doors and cornicing were too fiddly to sand.
it's only been up a couple of weeks, but doing ok still :)
It doesn't get properly hard for a few days, and leave a day or so between coats, and a few days before hanging doors as they're likely to get bashed.

Has anyone been able to locate the matching cabinets for these doors?

There not available on their website, all it will offer me is white cabinets which just wont match.

Is it a case of going in store and ordering them?

Or does anywhere else sell cabinets that would fit these doors and match?

B & Q only do a colour matched cabinet in a 500mm Wall unit - (to order) - other than that, you buy end panels *
in the colour you need to replace the one on the cabinet you can see

*Wall / Base/ or End support panels
