'There aint no Party like an S Club Party'
Hey Mrs S, I think the fact that schools 'ignore' Apsergers is dispicable. 10-15 years ago when it wasnt as prominent or as recognised as it is now yes, but not today. But do you know, the schools probably don't have the resources/money to deal with it as it requires a lot of commitment which like hospitals don't have. Which means unfortunately like so many of our school mates that were branded idiots, and treated as such and consequently grown up as idiots when all they probably had was Dyspraxia/Aspergers. Like my son's mother (and I'm telling you this because you already know it) you have the ammunition; i.e. the diagnosis, to fight Ryan's corner. And do you know I can spot Dyspraxia/Aspergers from a mile off and managed to save a lad from losing his job because he was branded as an idiot but he had dyspraxia. When Ryan becomes aware of his condition, life will be so much easier for him and you and Stu, oh and Natasha. But hey you know this already. He's a lucky lad and Stu isThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Snaggles. Sorry to hear Ryan being a bit of a pain the other day - you did say though the lack of routine was upsetting him slightly so I guess you were sort of expecting it by now - not nice though and I hope you are both o.k. Hopefully he will settle down into his holiday routine now.
The school sound like a right pain - glad the teacher told you though - at lesat it confirms your suspicions. I think schools and teachers are under so much pressure they just can't / won't cope with anything extra - obviously they need the importance of it drummed into them - how much of a difference it would make to Ryan, you as a family , to the teachers etc.Making my money go further with MSE :j

Evening
Hurray, school holidays at last! :T
Ryan will be arriving home in about an hour, so in the morning, we can all sleep in as long as we want (are you listening Natasha), and stay in our pyjamas until lunch time if we like. :T
I don't know if everyone already knows this, but for anyone with bank charges claims still outstanding, the FSA has given the banks another stay of execution with regard to dealing with bank charges refund claims. They originally allowed banks to keep the complaints on hold until July, but as the case is still rumbling on, they have extended it till January (or until the outcome of the case is known, whichever happens soonest). There was a short hearing at the start of July apparently to establish whether bank charges are capable of being penalties, and whether they are capable of being assessed for fairness (or something...), and I think it's the outcome of that hearing that people are now waiting for.
I'm sure it's been covered elsewhere on the forum, but I don't stray far from DFW at the moment!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
