Oh no, sorry about your mate - cancer is just the most evil of diseases. My sister had it when she was a young teenager - she had a huge tumour in her leg, and had over a year of aggressive treatment - she was in hospital for 99 nights in total, and the chemo made her vomit violently and lose her hair.

Its 'legacy' has been months and months of failed fertility treatment, thousands and thousands of pounds spent and a lot of heartache.

And my lovely Gran, who never hurt so much as a fly her whole life, had a horrible and painful battle against breast cancer, and never saw the grand-daughter she was so excited about.

    It's just evil. :(

But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Mrs S - a truly awful disease and the sooner we find a viable treatment the better.

Lou -SOrry about your mate to. I'm not a hypocondriac but it does make you wonder about diagnosis' doesnt it

Can I just say that whilst we are talking about it and this is me trying to be positive, the cancer stats are misleading. They say 1 in 3 people will contract cancer at some point in their life. What that actually means is 1 in 3 people will have some contact with cancer in there life i.e. they will know someone who has it. Plus the stats dont explain that the stats include the high risk group i.e. those that have had cancer previously and get it again. The actual stats are something like 1 in 8.

My lovely SIL is going through this at the moment. Cancer of the bladder. She has had TWO ops to remove the tumour, they didn't get it all the first time, and had her first chemo on Tuesday. She had been going to the drs for two months, they had been treating her for cystitis for TWO BLOODY MONTHS. Aaaargh !!!!!! !

Lovely post btw Lenny, you are such a sweetie :kisses3: XX

Awww El, I was going to ask you the other day how she was doing but then I saw a post from you on another thread (Bob's maybe) saying she had had another op. How is she/are you coping?

Thanks guys. Spoke to her yesterday, they live in Cornwall. She had had a bad night after the chemo, legs twitching constantly, but she is remarkably cheerful and optimistic and keen to just chat about normal things. I love her to bits and hope to see her next month.
