You need to call for pest control as well, to sort the squirrels out. I would suggest you should state that there is an animal in the roofspace, (not mentioning squirrels). The incorrect workforce turning up is a get-out by the sub contractor - to a) avoid paying you compensation b) having to pay MHS for missing a KPI (key performance indicator). I would suggest you need to talk to an MLO at MHS.

Might be worth asking your estate manager about trimming trees touching the building. Mine recently arranged for a huge shrub out the front of my house to be chopped down.
  • Hi all,
Slightly off-topic, perhaps, but just wondered if anybody on here is based at Kinloss? My fiance is posted there this summer and I'll be moving up there to join him after we're married in October - does anybody know what the standard of MQs is like up there? I've not lived in quarters before and having seen all the horror stories on TV in the last few days I'm a bit concerned. If I'm going to be living in a mouldy shed I'd rather know now so I've got six months to mentally prepare!! :cheesy: Thanks x

Looking at the national Audit Office report, Scottish housing has had higher investment and is returning better occupant satisfaction results.

    Hello!

I'll be moving into my first MQ in the not too distant future - One question i've got is regarding Electricity and/or gas connection:

Do I have to arrange connection by myself, or is this something organised at DE level?

    Would appreciate a response.

    Many thanks! :D

It's all connected. You'll be given a reading at march in and then the bills from those readings onwards are yours.

Usually this will be down to you to organise, when you arrive there will usually be a pile of meter requests from the previous supplier. You are free to choose whoever to take up your supply. It might be worth checking if there is a fuel subsidy scheme in operation where you are moving to prior to this though.

If a card meter is fitted due to previous non payments, you can refuse the property.

I have a few things I would like to contact housing about rather than calling the repair number on 0800 7076000 does anyone know of an actual address which I can write to regarding our quarter, I have a lot of things to say! Is there a complaints address or anything? Thank you, Ruth.

Does anybody know what rights we have about NOT having a repair done?

Although I know things are slightly different as we are overseas, but just wondering about the general gist of things...

Explanation is: Our storage heater fell off the wall, it's very heavy, and if my daughter had been anywhere near it it would almost certaily have broken her bones or even killed her. Now they want to fix a new storage heater up, and I don't want them to! We already have an electric fire in our living room so we simply don't need it...
