Updated my details last night as well. Interesting that they should be doing all this now though,,, Are there MORE new restrictions in the offing I wonder
Expect an announcement from eBay on a new controversial "subject de jour" tomorrow....
I think updating phone numbers will be the least of most sellers' worries.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

I got an 'alert' too,.........so did my sister.
 I thought i'd done something wrong for a minute!
 So did I!!
Not updated it yet as, although it is correct, I am not at home at the moment and don't want them to make a telephone call to that number as I won't be there. I assume that they do that, like Paypal do when you verify?0

I'm sure that'll make them popular with librarians!:rolleyes:numberthree wrote: »Just logged in to my Ebay account and got a message from them saying that they are going to start telephoning people if they use a different computer to list on, from the one they normally use.
What if someone habitually uses different computers, e.g. a student using library/ uni/ college computers? Will eBay phone every time?0

Yes they will - it's been confirmed by eBay employees on a few of the eBay boards.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Expecting something in particular? I rely on you Steve to keep me up to date as I never get any ebay announcements despite having all my setting set to 'receive'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am another one who does not have a mobile phone. I do access my ebay account when away from home , staying with family or just to see how my sales are doing. I emailed them yesterday night and got a reply this morning to say add the phone number of the person I would be staying with. Well 3 sons plus various holidays and that wouldn't be suitable for me either. I may have to just get a cheap mobile just hope I remember to charge it and take it with me Am I the only person on the planet with NO mobile:rotfl: There seems to be a phone glued to the ear of everyone these days -now I know what they are doing - taking calls fron ebay:T 0 Am I the only person on the planet with NO mobile:rotfl: There seems to be a phone glued to the ear of everyone these days -now I know what they are doing - taking calls fron ebay:T 0

I think you can check your account, answer questions and buy things. But if you log on to another PC (another location) and start to sell and list things then they ring you.0

It's the ebay Live conference in Chicago at the moment, and there are a number of Keynote speechs due over the course of today.
There is a new band of PowerSeller being launched, Diamond level, in which they get customised pricing structures, such as free insertion, reduced final value fees, free gallery etc - but they will be required to sell about $500k, or £250k per month.
We're likely to get the first admission that the new feedback is not working as it should be, and a withdrawal option will be available.
Currently you need 10 star ratings to be able to display an average (which affects exposure on best match and also discounts for business sellers), but this is likely to be dropped to 3 - meaning there is more chance for small sellers to get penalised on exposure if they drop under 4.3 average)
It's also expected that a new fee structure will be announced for small scale sellers, but nothing has been indicated whether it will be skewed towards high insertion/low FVF or the other way around.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
