Thank you Steve. A lot of the potential changes have been things that I know we have mulled over on threads in the past. It will be interesting to see where we all are when the merry go round stops (if it ever does!)

I no longer sell on ebay,even if I did I wouldn't give my house number out to ebay.Lets see how many do you want to buy this etc phonecalls you get in the future.

I have had my full name address and phone number registered on ebay since I started in 1999. My invoices if people go through th eebay checkout service shows my full details, and my personal invoices also show all details.

As I am registered as a business seller my address is now shown openly on my about me page as required.(my phone number however is not there but of course can be obtained, as always , from ebay by any buyer or seller in a transaction with me)

I can't forsee any more phone calls than I ever had (which so far has been 4 or 5 mainly arranging personal collection items) as we have always been required to have a contact number for ebay..so am I missing something here

Just my thought on how things might turn out.

Do you honestly think this will work.....

Take Experian free credit reports,sign up for one and 99% of the time that old debt will turn up shortly.How is this I wonder.

I've never, up until now, had a phone number registered with ebay (I joined around 2001 off the top of my head). But I have today taken out an 0871 number (for free ) and used that as my primary number on ebay.

I shall also be making sure all cold callers in future are given the new phone number. I'll get 4p for every minute so I might just keep the foreign call centres hanging on a bit

Just a possibility that these numbers will be sold on.

Same as Experian selling on your details.

Also NTL asking if you have a mobile number "just incase your landline goes down" and they need to contact you.

And one last one...how many times have you been asked when making a payment by card over the phone "what type of card is it".What difference does it make.

All legal mind you,as confirmed by a call operator I know.
