  • lucielle - I'm sorry about your tax credits. Why have they been stopped? Mine were because I failed to call back with a final piece of information within the time (forgot), did that happen to you?

Earned too much and have a large overpayment to pay back which basically takes care of this award. I'd rather get it paid back this way than have to add it on to our debt total. Any news?

  • Thank you Verbatim and lucielle, it went quite well I think but I'm not getting too hopeful after the last time. The job sounds pretty tough - heavily target driven, plus a lot of foreign travel etc. She was dubious about my long commute and the inflexible hours with all the children but I hope I convinced her that I'm ready for it. We'll see. But it's galvanised me to start getting onto other agents and apply for more jobs at least. I'll hear whether I got through to the second interview stage on the 8th Sept. Maybe I'll have found something else by then.....!

That's not too bad then Lucielle - will you get them again once the overpayment is dealt with?

    Hi Forgetmenot,

I've just spent the last 2 days reading through your thread...what an inspiration! You've come so far over the last two months. You sound like such a strong woman.
Good luck with the job hunting/interviews, and with the book!

I shall continue following you on your DFW journey!

I'm not sure. I was working a lot more hours last year, my job ended in Feb so I think I will wait until next year and allow this award to go towards the over payment.

  • Thank you Sarah! I don't feel at all that I've earned any of what you say - I'm still struggling, but thank you for your good luck wishes.

lucielle - that sounds like the best idea if they're happy about it. They were so nice to me when I finally got everything regulated last week. Made a happy change from fielding calls from creditors. Are you working again now?

Hey! A bit of good news today! I entered our tax credits award into our CCCS figures and we now qualify for their help with a DMP as there are a whole £200 left after our outgoings. I don't know whether it's the best way forward, but psychologically it's a huge boost. I just remember how hopeless I felt the first time I did the online budget. They told me there was nothing they could do, and to go away and address our deficit. That galvanised me! Time for a new SOA I think, but sleep first. Night, to all the night owls.

    Morning FMN,

Great news on the surplus/dmp. I'm sure you'll feel a lot better once the dmp is sorted and you have a do-able SOA. I think it's really a matter of feeling in control rather than buffeted about by outside forces!

  • Thank you Ruby and Verbatim but.. oh dear.... I didn't get round to doing my SOA as I've been doing end of holiday things with the children. I'll do it at the weekend. Hope everyone has a good evening.
