There was a troll on the board this afternoon and he posted on this thread, so we "played" with him until he got fed up and disappeared!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Fidget, I know you're right. It's been more than ten years since I worked - rusty doesn't describe it! And yet in some ways I've got more to offer now, but I need a chance to prove that. Maybe temping is the way to do that.
As I said earlier, tomorrow is a new day!!

...and the posts were deleted? I guess he wasn't being nice then... oh dear. Where's the meaning in their lives?LBM 16/06/08 - Credit card debts June '08 [STRIKE]£49,145 [/STRIKE].... Feb '13 balance £38,478 ... We'll get there0

yes, his posts were deleted.
Sadly they pop up on threads from time to time because they have nothing better to do.......they are hoping to push us into a reaction that makes them feel as though they have "won" but today they picked on a day when the only ones on the board were the "old timers" like me and the seasoned "troll-bashers"......so he soon got fed up of not getting the reaction he wanted!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi FMN
I've just read this entire thread & just want to say how much I admire you & the way you've coped.
Just a couple of comments about your job hunting, I ran an IT networking company for 15 years, but have only been able to get a 'job I'm overqualified for' & I was only out of the trade for 18 months. I now earn £13k a year! Part of the problem is with the agencies, I was told by one that 25 is considered mature & that 'at my age' they were not interested. I realise I am a lot older than you, but despite any ageism rules I found it easier to get work through the local papers etc.
Good Luck
Hester

Hi Hester and thank you for that. Well I was a no-good flibbertigibbet at 25, with issues, a long way from being mature! How sad that employers don't see us older people as more solid and reliable and less likely to skip off to the other side of the country or stagger in with a regular hangover, as was my bent when I was younger. I would have thought you'd be so employable with your experience - IT everyone needs these days....LBM 16/06/08 - Credit card debts June '08 [STRIKE]£49,145 [/STRIKE].... Feb '13 balance £38,478 ...
