I've a Halogen oven. Got it a few months ago and it gets used every day. Things cook quicker, you are not using so much electric as it heats up quickly. Easy to clean. I've baked cakes, jacket potatos in it. Done a whole roast chicken with all the veg. Glad I did buy it in the end as my fan oven decided to conk out, so the Christmas dinner will be cooked in it this year.0

To be honest I found it no different to cooking in my fan oven. BTW the halogen oven does have a fan built in. If you do get one make sure it comes with the racks and extender ring as you don't want to be paying for those as an extra. Also cleaning, put a couple of cm's of water in the bottom and a drop of washing up liquid, set the time for 10 mins and heat about 180c and watch it clean itself, just empty and wipe dry when its finished0

We have just got one as our oven has been making some funny noises and is on its way out and we cant afford to buy a new one so this was a cheaper option. My father has one and uses it all the time. We have had it for a week now and use it for every thing we would use the oven for, the roast chicken and potatoes were great in it.0

I bought one a few weeks ago and it's really good.
I only put the main oven on now when I'm batch cooking bread or pasties.
I've roasted chicken both whole and portions.
Today it was sausages and root roast.
It's quicker because you don't really have to pre heat,it's easy to clean and yesterday I did popcornwith my 10yr old grandaughter. It was fab watching it pop so much so I burnt the toffee sauce:rotfl:
One thing I got mine from Ideal World, it's not the new fangled one but it does have a hinged lid which is a must as otherwise you'd have to lift what is actually the hot bit and put it down somewhere
There is a good forum online with lot's of recipes and hints

My Dad has one and now the conventional oven never gets used unless I decide that flapjacks are in order when I stay over! He uses it every day for chicken or fish and then adds his veggies, it's so quick and to his credit it has renmained spotless over the past 3 years. I thought it was a complete waste of money and space when he bought it, I've had to eat my words!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I wouldn't recommend it if you have a real oven, unless you're struggling to fill it. It's good, but it's just a small fan-assisted oven (so remember to adjust your cooking times from an ordinary electric or gas oven). It's difficult to bake in as you can't accurately preheat it. Better than a microwave with a built-in oven, as long as you have the room for it, but nothing on a proper oven.0
